April 20, 2013

I start my just chatting with a quote from my niece Liz after she found out that her son Ian & friends were ok after the explosion at the Boston Marathon. I took this of Facebook.

"I sit here trying to calm my mind that we have dodged a bullet...minutes separate tragedy from relief...another reminder to hug those closest to you, tell them you love them, and most importantly demonstrate their priority in your life...don't waste one minute of life. Every day's a wake up call:)"

Got to also mention that a friend of her's son lost both legs in that event. This also from her FB page

"As you may know one of our long time friends, Csilla Bauman, has been faced with a terrible tragedy. Csilla's son Jeff had both legs amputated on Monday as a result of a bomb at the Boston marathon planted by a coward. The family needs help raising money for medical bills etc. this THURSDAY through SUNDAY we will be featuring "Jeff's Bag" a signature chocolate bag made in honor of Jeff and his family. ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of the proceeds from the sales over 4 days will go directly to the families charity. TELL YOUR FRIENDS!! Come down and have a bag for Jeff.
Now I know that many of you are a long way away from Milford, NH but I am sure everyone would like to help in some way. I know you can't go there and buy a bag, but I am sure if you send an e-mail to Liz atrlmichaud@comcast.net she can help direct you in the right direction. I just spotted this myself so I will also try to get info for next week.

Joyce arrived safely last Friday. She has been so tired, and trying to get over a cold that she didn't venture far from Dad's.  She heads home today, and Lana and I have had a week off more or less.  It has been great having her.  She also got Dad his lobster that he dearly loves.   Thanks again Joyce!

On Sat., we took Dad's to Shell's, yep you are right...two weeks in a row. But he really likes it and he eats well there.

On Monday I took my car into be services...50,000 miles. Thankfully all was in good shape, just needed two new tires, which I had done on Tuesday. Diana takes her vehicles there and my service rep told me what a handsome grandson I had and what a nice young man he was. I tried to convince her that he looks like me but she wouldn't have it. He looks like his Dad.

Got some work done in my yard, but not enough. Yesterday I mixed the weed killer to spay between the cracks on the sidewalk. The sky was clean, the wind was blowing but I wasn't concerned about that. Got it all done went in the house and the sky opened up. It only rained for about 5 min....but it rained enough that I will have to do it again.

On Wednesday, I went to Dad's. My dear friend Bet made him some peanut bridle, he loves it and stores it in the freezer. Would you believe he doesn't know who but somebody keeps taking it!

The home health nurse came while I was there and she was new on the job. I talked her thru what to do and I thought he would be pleased that she did it almost right. But no he wasn't she was way to slow!

Want to wish a very happy birthday to two special people, first of all Lynn Adams will celebrate on the 22 and my daughter Diana will celebrate on the 26th. I am not sure but I think they both will be 22! Please join me in wishing them the best of birthdays!

Took Bill to the VA in Orlando on Thursday. The Dr. says he is healing up well where they did the skin cancer surgery. But the thing I have to share with you!!!! Of course he had on a heavy shirt & T shirt and jacket....he said he was warm and would I turn the air on!!!! That is a first!

Grandson Patrick is still working on the pool. He seems to get it already for the next step and then it rains. Can't complain about the rain we need it...but sure hope we get it finish soon.

Ok, I am sure one of you know the answer to this question. They made such a big deal on the fact that the Yankee's played "Sweet Caroline" at their game for Boston....I don't understand can someone help me on this....you see I am not a baseball fan.

Well I guess that is it for this week, hope all is well with you and yours!   Just remember no one loves you like you do!

Lots of Love,

a, aa, ~g~
