"Being negative is easy. There will always be a downside to everything good, a hurdle to everything desirable, a con to every pro. The real courage is in finding the good in what you have, the opportunities in every hurdle, the pros in every con" Carolyn Hax (is a writer and columnist for the Washington Post)
Good morning all, hope that you had a wonderful New Year! We would have missed it, but the neighbors wanted us to know it was here. They started about 6:30 setting off fireworks of and on. At midnight you would have thought that there was a war going on there was so much of it. So we did get to see the New Year in and went back to bed.
Lots of snow in some places up north. My brother-in-law Jeff was sick with the flu, so sister Joyce had to do the shoveling.
While Joyce was Maine busy shoveling (although, she said she felt good doing it) Sister Lana was in Rochester, NY playing in it
(Love this picture of her)
Back here on the home front, I took Dad to the Wound Center on Monday morning. The leg is looking much better so the were able to do a skin graph. Dad would just like it to heal up so he can take a shower. Don't think that is ever going to happen.
I am so thankful for my girls, especially Diana. Nancy went on Thursday and spent the night but after that is was Diana and I. I asked Dad last night if Lana was pleased with the way we took care the house and him while she was gone and he said "She never even thought of that she was just glad to see me"
On Wednesday when I was down there he kept fooling with one of his contacts. I suggested that he just take it out but of course he wouldn't hear of that. So after I left of course he lost the contact.....he says he needs to see the Dr. but this is not the first time he has done that. Oh well we will wait and see.
Well I really let a dear friend down this week and I feel awful about it. For over a year we have been taken the supplies for Baxley to another place. We have continued to call it Baxley because that is what everyone is familiar with. She wrote a letter to the Editor about how filthy the place was (and asked for my opinion and I agreed) and the Housing Director came back and said it had been closed for a year. It made her look like she didn't know what she was talking about. My fault because I have not checked Baxley since Meals on Wheels moved to a new faculty and the Baxley folks were bused there. I did not know it...still feel bad about it. You know you get so busy with other things and you just have to get things done, will have to be more careful in the future...so sorry.
Helen and her granddaughter April are on their way to Deans. All my sisters are travelers, I guess I am too...I am either traveling to Melbourne, Orlando, Viera or to Publix
Bet told me that her niece Jo Anna is improving after her surgery...Prayer does work!
Got a gift certificate to go to the movies for Christmas. This week I have really hit it. On Thursday Diana and I went to see Parental Guidance, which was a very funny movie. I really enjoyed it. On Friday afternoon we went to see Guilt Trip, it was funny, but not as good as Billy Crystal & Bet Midler movie. but that is my opinion. But it was great to get out and relax. Thanks Dear Diana
I am hoping by next week I will have my new computer. Thanks Mark for the suggestion but I know nothing about this thing only if it works or not.
Yesterday the temp was 65 but it look like it was going to snow.
Was so sorry to hear that cousin Blair's wife passed. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Well I guess I better wrap this up, I have a vestry meeting at the Church today and off to Dad's.
Remember no one loves you like you do! Let me hear from you!
Lots of Love
a (aa) g~
