A rolling stone gathers no moss, but it gains a certain polish". Oliver Herford. (1863 - 1935). British born (but American), a humorist writer, illustrator,
Good morning all, hope that you have had a great week. How is the weather where you are. It has gotten quite warm here with some kind of rain each day. Very humid, but as long as I get out there early in the morning to work in my yard it isn't too bad. Said I was going to climb that tree and by JOE I did it. Thought at times I might break my neck but all went well. There is another one just like this on the other side of the drive way and I trimmed that one also. Still have others to do but that was enough for one week.
Last Saturday, Helen, Dad and I had dinner at Longhorn. It works out quite well getting there before 5, we got a nice parking spot and no waiting. Dad tried a new item, it was shrimp with steak and he really enjoyed it.
So did you do something special for Memorial Day? I remember the big deal was putting flowers on the graves. Of course it wasn't just for the Vet's but just about anyone that you had there. Felt bad that Mom, Grampy & Grammy Willett, and Grammy & Grampy Adams didn't have new flowers on their graves...but who knows maybe they were...
Of course with Memorial Day the Wound Center was closed so we didn't have to make that trip. The nurse came twice this week, she wasn't happy with his wound and called the Dr. about it. They called Lana to bring him down, again they waited for a while to see the nurse to get her evaluation of it. Lana said, she took of the bandage, and said it looked normal to her and re bandaged it and that was it! So when we go this week I will talk to the Dr. about it. Lana feels that his body is rejecting the graph...we will see what the Dr. says.
Charles sent me this picture of my Grandparents Adams wedding day.

They are the two on the very end of the front row. Have no idea who the rest of the people are but it is a very old picture, because they were married Sept. 3, 1912. Have you been watching "Who do you think you are?". I have and have found it very interesting...Helen, Lana and Charles have done a lot of research on our family but it is hard to read some of that stuff...but no Presidents or anything like that.
Lana returned from Rochester on Monday, and made me very jealous that I didn't get to see all the laic that she had pictures of. One of my favorite flowers. Although they had a lot to do while they were there they had a great visit!
We really enjoyed Helen's visit and hated to see her leave. Took Helen to the airport on Wednesday, and had just got thru saying at least we don't have to go around Robin hood's barn to get there when we seen a bad accident. Our side of the road was fine but on the way back I had to take the scenic route. It seems a guy hauling a U-Haul hit and car then he went off the road into the woods. The passenger in the truck hauling the U-Haul was killed. That is all I know about it. But at 4-5am in the morning the first thing that comes to mind is he went to sleep.
Thursday, I got my stitches out of my arm. All was fine, no cancer and he told me it was caused by an in grown hair.....
Want to wish my nephew Peter a very Happy Birthday today, also the very best birthday to my friend Sandra on the 7th. Felt so bad I forgot to put my brother-in-law Greg's birthday in last week...seems I am always forgetting something. But hope it was a good one...
Borrowed these pictures from Facebook so I could show cousin Jack's youngest children...Fishing....
Looks like lots of fun to me
Last week I mentioned that Stacey & Paul had a new home. Here is a picture of it, have to get up there and see it in person soon.
