May 5, 2012

Good morning all, hope that you have had a great week!  The weather here is getting quite warm.  I thank God everyday for the air conditioner that Lana gave me for my Computer room, and Lana of course.  Thankfully I have had time in the morning to get out and do some yard work.  Dad says that is what I do every day but that isn't true it is just what I do when I can.

Last Saturday, Dad and I had dinner at Perkins.  It was something different and it was his suggestion.  He has decided that mostly older people eat there.  Don't know if that means we will go back again or not.

Brother in law David & Johanna sent me these pictures from Washington state that I would like to share with you.  The first picture is of Clyde's sister Linda son & his wife.  Swen & Gloria Anderson.  Gosh time flies the last time I seen him he was just a little boy!

Beautiful water falls
Just had to include the picture below of the Space Needle, it brought back a memory to me.  Several years ago I attended a Federally Employed Women Conference in Seattle.  We all (about 10 of us) decided to have dinner there.  One of the ladies was a little taken back about it but didn't say why.  We had a nice meal & decided to go to the top to see the sights.  When it was all over everyone was back on the ground but one.  Yup, that lady, Helen was her name was still at the top frozen in place.  What a time we had getting her down.
Great pictures by the way David, you do great work!

Judy & Helen had a great time getting ready for the garage sale.  Helen had boxes that she had moved from CA. that she had not opened.  Plus I understand at least 9 boxes of books.  Judy cleans like my Mom did leaving no stone unturned.  Helen knew she had to get rid of much of that stuff but was holding back.  But with Judy's help the decission was made.  She sold things that surprised her, but was still left with a lot.  But with Judy's help she arranged to get it all taken care of.  Judy headed home on Sunday, stopped to see Eloise and guess what, she didn't head back to NJ until Thursday.  I think it had something to do with Eloise

Dad & I did the wound center on Monday, and all is going well.  The Dr. says it is healing like it is suppose to.  The nurses returned on Friday.  I am pleased about that, because he always complain when he doesn't have a visitor at all during the day.  But the sad news is the Dr. was supposed (I am guessing) to prescribe a special thing to put on his leg and he didn't.  So the nurse said she would not be back until he did so.  (Something just don't seem right about that).  Anyway the good news is it is helaing, thank the Good Lord!

I was feeling a little sorry for myself having to drive to Melbourne three times a week, with the cost of gas.  Until I spoke to my friend Bet about it and she tells me her sisters in Ok drive about 40 miles each way to see her Mom every day....I have decided that I don't have a problem.

My friend Karen had a visitor for about a week, a Indigo snake.  It came in the back door and ended up in her guest room.  They tried everything to catch it, even got a professional trapper.  They finally  got it and everyone was happy (especially Karen)

Well time is moving on and it won't be long before Helen will be here for her visit, and Lana will be off to Rochester.  I know Lana needs to get away but she will be busy while she is there helping Shari with her parents.

Joyce is off and running again for her house seat in Maine.  This weekend she is at the Republican Convention in Maine.  Wish her well, even though we don't talk politics.

Liz had surgery on her leg yesterday and Rik reports that all is going well.  She is in pain, but I am sure she will master it.  She is a very active person, it is going to be hard on her, she can't put any weight on that leg for a month...the leg itself is a problem but not moving like she is use to is going to be harder!

On Tuesday I went into work to take a Security Course in order to keep my badge.  I was surprised to learn that there are over 90 of us that volunteer our time.

Today is a big day for Dad, the Kentucky Derby!  We have to watch that every year.  He has been trying to get info on the horses but so far no luck.  Still don't know why the triple crown is so important to him, but he loves to watch it.

Got a nice note from Sue & Paul, they are keeping busy.  With the temp getting so hot out there, they are going to the pool just about everyday!

Well I am sure I have left something out, I had a hard time sitting down to do this, I guess I am getting lazy.

Have a great week and remember, no one loves you like you do!

Lot's of Love,
