"Everyday may not be good, but there is something good in every day." -Author unknown
Good morning all, hope that you have had a great week. The weather here in Florida has been warm with some showers. They keep calling for 40%, 30% rain but I think most of it goes into the river...because my yard has seen very little of it. Got to say thou one of my greatest pleasures are sitting on my back porch in the morning drinking my hot choc and watching the humming birds feed, the woodpecker gets seeds out of the bird feeder and smashing them against the pole to open them. Then of course there is the big race...Cocoa chasing the squirrels. Believe me it is funny! The squirrel comes over the roof and walks ever so quietly down the pool screen in closer. Cocoa stands there like a pointer...the squirrel makes it to the end and Cocoa goes after it...now neither Cocoa nor the squirrel knows they can't get to each other. Cocoa starts barking and the squirrel goes running back...usually Cocoa is in the lead on the ground and off he goes. That happens several times during my hot choc break.

Last Sat., was the big Kentucky Derby which Dad has to watch. So off to Applebee's we went for dinner. Of course all couldn't go just right, his steak was brought to him on the rare side. He always says he wants his steak well done, but I order it med well. So far it has worked out great but not last Sat. Of course he didn't want to miss the race so he was in a hurry. I finally got it taken care of for him and he brought his meal home. Don't know if that means no more Applebee's for not. Anyway, he enjoyed the race but can understand where they get the names. The horse that won name is "I'll have another". So in another week we will be watching the 2nd part and see how "I'll have another" does.

On Monday, back to the wound center we went....to my surprise they did another skin graph. They had been telling me that all was going well but the nurse told me that it wasn't unusual, sometimes they have to do as many as five. But all went well, it takes about one hour and 20 minutes and we are on our way.

Tuesday was a great day, met Bet at the Mexican restaurant for lunch. She treated me for my birthday. I love to go there, but it seems she is the only one I can talk into it. Love it the food is great!

Please everyone wish my sister Helen a very happy birthday today. She is 17, and wishes she could keep up with her age. Next week on the 15th, she will arrive here on Tuesday and we are really looking forward to her visit! Lana leaves for Rochester on the 18th.  The very best of birthday's Helen!

Want to wish a very special Happy Birthday to my dear friend Karen. She will celebrate on Monday! I think she will be 21!    This calls for lunch soon so we can celebrate you, you are very special!

My visit to Dad's on Wed., went fairly smoothly. I took him watermellon, canalope and honey dew melons. It didn't take him long to finish them off will be taking more today. I cleaned and changed his filter on his ac & rotated the batteries on his emergency call system.

Liz's surgery went well and between Rik & Ian they are trying to keep her comfortable. But she is such and active person I know that it will be a hard job for all.

Helen has put her house on the market. She has plans to move to NM in the future so she can be near family.  She really hates to leave her house, as well as we hate to see her move from the east coast, but there are times we have to do what we think is best.

Hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day.  Got to say that this year has been extra special...maybe they know something I don't  Pat & Dave sent me two doz roses, and a box of Shari's Berries (candy)!  Don't know if you have ever seen them/or had them, but they are different kinds of choc dipped with fresh strawberries.  Each one is about the size of a tennis ball.  WOW!  Then Diana took me to the movies and out to dinner, and gave me a gift certificate from her & Nancy to get a facial at my favorite place.  All I can say is what ever I did I hope I do it again!  Love you all!

My pole saw keeps losing it's chain and I really have to get busy with my little power saw and cut some palm fonts.  Looking forward to doing that some time next week.

I guess that is it for this week, please take good care of yourself and remember, no one loves you like you do!

Lot's of Love,
a, aa ~g~
