"Face your deficiencies and acknowledge them: but do not let them master you. Let them teach you patience, sweetness, and insight" Helen Keller
Good morning all, hope that you have had a great week. Things have not been slow here, it seems I always have something to do. But, if I get a chance I procrastinate as much as I can. I did get some yard work done, but not much.
Well today is the big day...the Preakness! We will be going to Applebee's for dinner tonight so we can be home in time to watch it. Wondering how I will have another does towards the triple crown. Last week we had dinner at Olive Garden...you know the family place.
Hope all you Mom's had a wonderful Mother's day. I have to say this year mine was exceptional!
Poor Elaine, I mentioned that I was going to cut limbs of my tree's (never got to it) but she did...here is her story...I hope you had better luck trimming your bushes than I did. I was sawing away, doing great & the chain fell of the chainsaw. SO....I got the 5 foot paint ladder & went up 4 steps & right at the point of me lopping off the last branch, the ladder started slipping into the ground behind me, so it was fall backwards or jump. So I jumped & landed just like your suppose to, but ended up with a sprained right ankle with a hairline fracture. So now I'm wearing one of those beautiful boots. I don't have a meniscus tear in my left knee; it's a damaged ACL & arthritis, so now I'll not only be in a boot, but I'll be sporting a knee brace & getting some kind of shots in the knee(don't remember what the doc called them) to replace the fluid that the arthritis has depleted. "Ain't" getting old fun LOL !!! Now I'm wishing I wasn't such a tom-boy growing up HA! Makes me wonder if cutting those branches are a good idea...but got to do it! Will let you know next week how I did!
My granddaughter Krista has a new close friend, His name is Andrew
Grandson Todd was bitten by a spider at work (Diana is very allergic to them also) and had to be sent to the Dr. But he is doing fine now.
If you didn't know it Florida is the Lightening Capital of the world. If you don't believe it you should have been here this past week. We have had some dozy storms. On Tuesday Helen arrived from Maine right in the middle of a good one. Earlier in the afternoon we had a bad storm that set a fire blocking all traffic on the main road to the airport, so I had to find another way to go. Sounds easy doesn't it but it has been a long time since I have gone any other way to the airport. Love my GPS, but if you don't know where you are going it takes you around Robin Hoods barn, which it did. I was so concerned about being late to pick up Helen but no worry...it was storming so badly that she was not able to get her luggage for about two hours. Got to say it was really an experience, Thank God she made it here safely and somehow we managed to get back home safely.
We had several Dr. appointments this week but no real new from them, except Dad is going to have another graph on Monday. They called today and said they would have to change his appointment to 10:30 this coming Monday because the did not think the graph would be in before then. I did make a fuss about it and they said I could keep checking to see if it got in earlier....so we will have to wait and see how that come out.
David sent me another great picture of a Canadian goose with her babies...thought I would share it with you.
Haven't heard from many of you in awhile....drop me a note would love to hear from you!
I guess that is it for this week, please take good care of yourself and remember no one loves you like you do! Have a great week!
Lot's of Love,
