"You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step."
-- Martin Luther King, Jr.
Good morning all, hope that you have had a great week! It seems everyday I had something to do this week, so the week flew by.
Want to start right off with Birthday's...Want to wish my dear niece Elizabeth a very happy birthday....it isn't every day that you turn 21 Then there is that special nephew who is also celebrating on Sunday. Robie want to wish you the very best of birthdays! Also on Sunday is Bill's 84th Birthday. His wish is to have a lobster for dinner, and mine is that I can find it. Then on the 17th the very best of Birthday's to my granddaughter Krista...she will be 16 (I wish). Think I covered everyone if not, let me know please!
As I told you last week Dad & I were going to try a new Restaurants . Well when we got there our first hit should have been this isn't the place for us. A motorcycle was parked in the handicap spot. When we go inside we learned they were not handicap assessable. Really surprised me in this day and age. Steps but no ramp! So that did it for that place, so off we went to LongHorn. When we got there, there were about 20 people outside, so that meant there were at least that many inside. So that took care of that...Dad will wait a little while but not that long. So off we went to Applebee's. The whole evening was an adventure but all and all it went well.
Sunday the scouts & the young people at the church put on a breakfast to collect can goods for the for the Sharing Center. The cost was 10 cans....nice breakfast!
On Monday I had a Planning & Zoning meeting in Veria. I got there and the room was packed, thought maybe they had changed the room and didn't tell me but oh no it was the right room. The room holds 300 I am told and every seat was taken plus they lined the walls. It seems the developer has had a change of heart, his development now if for 55 and over and he wants to change the rest of the property zoning. These people in their white shirts did not want that to happen. Of course, the developer asked to have the item tabled so he could talk to these people. Felt bad for them, all made the effort to attend the hearing, just to find out they will have to come back next month.
Tuesday, it was time for my shot in the eye. My left eye is looking good except my version in that eye seems to be less. So to take care of that, I will now be getting shots in that eye every month. Still have to have the shot in the right eye and hopefully this will be the last one but we will see. Got to think positive.
On Wednesday, Dad had his Dr. appointment for his leg. Again the Dr. said that it was slow healing but it looked good. To make sure that he put the medication on it that he had prescribed. Dad told him that the nurse had recommended that he go to the wound center. The Dr. said he had no problem with that, but it would be like getting the same treatment twice and he didn't think it was necessary. Since then the nurse has said that they may need to quit coming if he doesn't go. I told Lana that she has no say on that, the Dr. is the one that is having them come. I also suggested that she call the Dr. and tell him what the nurse has said.
After all that I took Dad to the bank, and we went to lunch. I feel good about that, that is twice in one week he has been out.
Thursday, I took my car in for it's 30,000 mile check up. Not cheap but I feel that I would rather be safe than sorry. So my valentines present from Bill was he paid for it.....that was great!
Nancy is going daily for her radiation treatments. She is hanging in there, and her mood seems to be fine.
Got my Chicken noodle soup in the Crock pot. Thanks everyone for sending me your favorite recipe. I used one of them and it looks great and taste great, so hopefully it will be a success.
We are all excited Judy & Greg are coming down the end of the month. They will be here for two weeks! Of course we are not excited about the fact that Jessica is coming the 2nd week with our precious Eloise! We have only seen pictures but we are crazy about that baby. Can't wait to get my hands on her. I know Dad will be so happy to have them all!
The weather people have been calling for rain today, I sure hope they are wrong so the Pioneer Day will be a success at the church. All week they have said it was raining but it didn't rain here. Did get a down pour last night around 11. Then it is supposed to turn cool for a few days...we will see.
Diana & the gang seem to be doing well. Krista is still having problems but hopefully that will turn out fine.
Got another busy week, next week, hope you have a great week! Remember no one loves you like you do! Take good care of yourself!
Lot's of Love,
