"We must accept finite disappointment, but we must never lose infinite hope" - Martin Luther King
Good morning all, hope that you have had a great week! The weather here has been great, got some work done in the yard, found mussels I forgot I had it has been quite a week.
Convinced Dad to try Applebee's again, it was great for me, needed a break from Italian. Don't get me wrong I love that kind of food but two night in a row I thought would be a bit much. Thankfully Dad enjoyed his meal so we just might be able to put that back on the list.
On Sunday, I found out that we are planning a "Pioneer Day" for our Chapel and the Sam's house anther historical place down the rood from the Church. It will take place on the 11th of February. We will be furnishing a soup lunch. I was talking to the people that are in charge of the lunch and decided I would make some soup...of course the first soup I thought of was Chili, they don't want a lot of one thing and of course the Chili was already taken. So I am going to endeavor to make Chicken Noodle Soup. It has been years since I have made it, if you have a good recipe, send it on.
Want to wish a very happy birthday to Jerri Morar on the 31st. Hope you have a great day Jerri you deserve the best!
Monday was a fun day for me...as I told you my children gave me a new digital TV. Two weeks ago when my cleaning lady was here, she somehow screwed it up and I had to have the cable company come out and fix it. I was sure she wouldn't do it again but oh, yes she did! This time I couldn't even turn it on! So there was no TV on Monday! You can be sure I will talk to her quite clearly about it when she comes next time.
By the way Eloise did not take well to the flight to Phoenix. But had a wonderful trip back....
as it says on the picture it was chilly in AZ.
On Wednesday I was off to Melbourne to take Dad to the Dr. for his leg. He got such a kick because this man was complaining about the length of time he had been waiting. But when Dad found out how long he had, he understood, cause Dad don't like to wait. The Phys' assistant looked at his leg and thought the spot was getting larger. She suggested that it get out to the air longer. Again she told me it was healing slow because of his age.
Nancy went to Melbourne this week to be fitted for her vest that she will wear during her radiation. She tells me she is all marked up like a piece of meat and is not allowed to use any lotion of any kind, until the vest is ready. Found out yesterday she will start her radiation on Monday. Please keep her in your prayers. She stopped on her way home to visit Dad. He was very pleased.
Yesterday, I took Bill to the Dr. at the VA. He just got back from four months in Afghanistan and believe me he is happy to be home! Bill heart rate is still low and irregular. They did another EKG and sometime next week they will hook him up to a heart monitor. After that he will see a cardiologist. That is where we sit right now...
We also did Baxley yesterday, which reminds me I don't think I really thanked all of you who helped with their Christmas gifts. Not sure what was going on in my life at that time but I missed the delivery. But the ladies said it was almost overwhelming, they cried they were so happy! So from the bottom of my heart I thank you.
Please keep my dear friends John and Betty Valentine in your prayers. They just got back from Kansas City where they attended the funeral of her youngest brother, who was in his 50's. Now John is in the hospital with infection that has penetrated the left heal and the right leg.
Well I guess that is it for this week, hope you have a great week and remember no one loves you like you do!
Lot's of Love,
