December 31, 2011

Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas. Calvin Coolidge
Good morning all, hope you had a wonderful week and great Christmas! The weather this week as been a little on the cool side but all and all it has been great!

Dad & I went to the Olive Garden Christmas eve for dinner. We are now just down to two places to go to dinner...keep looking to try another one to the list but he is very fusy where we go. New Years eve will be Long Horn.
Got lots of pictures to share with you this time. Wish we had taken pictures here on Christmas but it is always an after thought. Start right out with Lana & Dad.
As you can see Dad is doing well, he still has that twinkle in is eyes. His leg is healing very slowly but the Dr. says that can be expected. Between Lana and the home care nurses he is well taken care of.

As always Christmas was a wonderful day here. Pat & Dave got here early as usual and started dinner. I tell you that Dave has lots of energy and is on the constant go. Everyone arrived around one thirty with their arms filled with goodies. It was so nice to have Stacey & Paul here, it has been a while since I had seen them. Bill did very well in the gift line (he is so hard to buy for, if he wants something he goes and gets it) But he got the razor that he wanted, and he has wonted a cushion for the rocking chair forever and I just couldn't find one. But Diana managed to get him one. He got jackets and socks...a very nice Christmas for him. I also did very well. I got lots of gifts certificates to my favorite store (Home Depot) and a beautiful TV for my bedroom from all my children! I must have been better than I thought I was this year.
Here are pictures of Helen's great grandchildren (Stephanie/April) in CA. We just seem to have beautiful children..
Katlin
Mason....this is what it is all about!

Well, David decided Christmas day I needed a new faucet for my kitchen sink. I really didn't think so but he said it was leaking around the sprayer and I really need a new one. By golly on Monday here they come with a new faucet! I had taken all the trimming off my tree so they killed two birds with one shot. David put the new faucet in and Pat took down the tree. How wonderful is that!
Pat is all excited he is going to be doing some back up singing for Andrea Bocelli on Feb 12th!!! I am not sure who he is, Pat did show me on his phone...must be someone great! Speaking of Pat & Dave it has been a long time since I have shared a picture of them...

Good picture don't you think?

On Wednesday visit to Dad's I got to take him to the Dr. As I said before his leg is healing very slowly but the bad news is another bone chip is making it's way to the surface. Like the Dr. said the person that did the skin graph those many years ago was way ahead of their time on it. The fact is it really help heal the original wounds but now they are slowly coming out.

This is Joyce & Geofrey daughter Liz & her husband Rik on Christmas day.

And look at this table....ready for a feast

Forgot to mention, along with his other gifts Dad got some peanut bridle from Bet. He just loves that stuff. Of course he doesn't eat very much.

Nancy is back to work, she is still quite sore and has some pain. She will find out next week when she will start her radiation.

On Wednesday, Krista fell at work. Thankfully she was just badly bruised but spent several hours at the ER before finding out nothing was broken.

Of course to round out the pictures before I sign off is Eloise with her Granddad!
Want to wish you all a very happy, healthy New Year! And remember no one loves you as much as you do!

Lot's of Love,
a, aa ~g~
