Bad habits are like chains that are too light to feel until they are too heavy to carry. (Warren Buffett, American entrepreneur and philanthropist, born 1930)
Good morning all, how was your week? Hope all went fine for you, it was pretty busy for this old girl I will tell you that.
The weather here has been great, great time to be in Florida. Poor Judy her power until late yesterday, thankfully Liz finally go theirs on Tuesday. What a nightmare, that has got to have been for them. I have so much to do in my yard, but I will have to make an appointment to do it, it seems I have something going on every day...or at least it seems that way.
On Saturday, Dad and I went to dinner at Long Horn. I think everyone in Florida is handicap because I hardly ever have any luck getting a spot there. Dad is in such a hurry to go in he is out of the car and ready to go while I am still trying to get his walker out of the trunk. Then it has to be lifted and he has to step up....but oh he can do it. Then I have to go find a place to park. Anyway the food was good and we enjoyed it.
Heard from Jack, Uncle Omar & Aunt Joyce's son. It seems Uncle Omar fell in the bathroom and broke rib's in fact some of them came thru the skin. He went to the hospital and was released. Jack was going down to spend a few days with them and arrange for some help for them. That is a large family also...maybe they should do what my sisters do..take turns coming to check them out and so forth. Hope I hear back from him soon to find out if they are ok. Please keep them in you prayers
Monday was Halloween, debated if I should give out candy or not. For years one of the Mom's down the street put out a flyer about what time they will start and to be at the end of the driveway. This year no flyer...but I decided to do it anyway I really get a kick out of seeing the little ones all dressed up.
So at dark I took my candy on my golf cart along with a tick touch out to the end of the drive way. We didn't have a lot of trick or treaters, about 15 but the funny part of the whole evening was Sally (my horse I feed). Every time a new trick or treaters came up to me for candy....Sally would heehee, she wanted a treat also. It was so funny you couldn't see her but she kept saying I want a treat also...here she is (compliments of friend Karen)
On Tuesday Dad was scheduled for his surgery, he had to be there at 12:45, Lana took him. We we got there we found out that the Dr was already 45 min behind, his surgery was supposed to be at 2. I think I get my patience from Dad he doesn't like to wait and of course it was almost 3:15 when they took him into surgery. He wasn't in there long about 30 minutes but when he came out he was in a lot of pain, so he spent much longer in recovery than was expected. But all in all he did very well and was ready to go home as soon as they would let him. He can't say no one cares for him, Lana was right there for his every move, Nancy call and wanted to spend the night with him but oh, no he was fine alone.
On Wednesday we were off to Orlando VA for test for Bill. Judy keeps telling me I need to give them my cell phone number and I have finally learned to do that. He was scheduled to be there at 10:15, but they called on Tuesday and told him his appointment for EKG was at 11:15 and he thought that it had been changed. So when we arrived there was a lot of running, and thankfully they fit us in for him to get all his test done. He is scheduled for the 28 and he has the go ahead to have it done.
On Thursday, I was off to Dad's again. This was quite and interesting experience....When I arrived Lana was waiting for the oxygen man to come..he said he would be there between 9 & 11...she had been there since nine and he had not arrived as yet and it was about 11:10 (he came about 11:30). The Home Health nurse had called the day before and told her she would be there between 12:30-1:30. Lana asked if she could come earlier because she had a Dr. and she snapped at Lana and told her no she couldn't and hung up on her. So Lana was a little upset to say the least. The first thing I noticed when I walked in the door was that Dad was wearing the neck for the life support thingy. I was so surprised, that is when Lana told me Thanks to Fr. Roberts he is now wearing it. Can't begin to tell you how many times all my sisters tried to talk him into wearing it...Wonderful I was so pleased! The next thing that happened was the nurse decided to come early. She was writing down his med's and looked at Lana and asked her (this important want you to remember this) as if I wasn't there mind you...she asked Lana if both Dad & I had dementia! It wasn't bad for Dad cause he couldn't hear her but it upset me a little bit. Lana explained to her that I didn't live there (she thought I was Lana Mom) and no neither of us had dementia! She proceeded to do Dad's leg, Of course I know nothing about it, it looked fine to me but Lana said she did it wrong...that it was supposed to be wrapped down instead of up and that she wrapped it so loose that it would have come off in no time. Needless to say after she left Lana rewrapped the leg. What a wonderful experience! Thank goodness for Lana she keeps on top of things!
Yesterday I took the rest of my stuff to the Church for the fair today. Maybe it is just me but it didn't look like they had as much as they have in the past. Just hope all goes well today and we raise a lot of money.
After I had my hair done yesterday at Nancy's I had my ear's cleaned Holistically. Interesting got to say that, and what a bunch of stuff came out of my ears...I really think I hear better
That is about it for this week, got a bunch to do next week also....not as dramatic I am sure. Can't believe it according to my records no birthday's or anniversary this week.
Please take good care of yourself and remember no one loves you like you do.
Lot's of Love,
