Almost everything–all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure–these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart. ~Steve Jobs
Good morning all, hope that you have had a great week! Got to say this is a wonderful time to be in Florida. The weather here has been great, in the mid 80's and the low in the high 60's, great weather. Of course Bill already has his flannel shirts out, it is too cold for him in the morning. I have several plants ready to go for our church fair and am working on more. Got to get real busy on that because it is only a month away. Sorry I am a little late this morning, it is raining, and Cocoa does not like going out in the rain!
On Saturday, Dad and I had a great visit and went to his favorite eating spot "Olive Garden". I swear everyone that lives in Fl has a handicap sticker. I very seldom am able to get a spot right in front of the place. Dad has decided that Red Lobster has improved since we were last there and would like to go. But as I said the Red Lobster would really be hard for him to get into. Hopefully, one of these Sat., Lana & Shari can join us and we will try it. Dad is in such a rush when he gets out of the car that there is no way I can help him.
Speaking of Lana, don't know if I mentioned it or not she is an LPN at the hospital that she works. She has been there over 35 years and in August they told her that the first of Oct, they would have to let her go because she is not a full RN. As I have mentioned from time to time she is working on her nursing degree and is almost finished but there is no way she could have done it by the 1st of Oct. The good news is they have given her an extension of six months I know that she will be able to finish and have her degree by then. We are all so proud of her...here she is with one of the new born's in her care...
Of course on Sunday Diana visited Dad like she always does. He really looks forward to her visit.
On Monday I had my Planning & Zoning meeting, which turned out to be very interesting. We had three people that wanted to change their zoning from Residential to Agriculture. The first one was so she could get 4 goats to mow her grass, yep you got it...the 2nd one was so they could have chickens and the last wanted horses. Not one person wanting to build anything...refreshing in a way.
On Wednesday, Dad and I tried a new sub place that Lana recommended. I thought it was very good. When I asked Dad what he thought, he said it was alright but the stuff keeps falling out of the bread!
Forgot to mention did my six month check up with the Dr. and as always I am doing great, I was pleased about that.
Thursday evening I met up with that old gang of mine from NASA. It is always wonderful to see them and get up to date with all the news. We promised ourselves that we would meet again before Christmas. Sure hope we do but you know retired people are so busy.
For me this has been a crazy week, don't know if someone is testing my sanity or if I am losing it. It all started when I couldn't get sound on my computer on Monday. Not tech. minded I asked Shari for help, she informed me my speakers were not plugged in. Sure enough she was right, one of my speakers was on the floor behind my desk and somehow was not plugged in. So I plugged it in what I thought was the right place but still don't sound Then I had a glitch on my TV box on Tuesday night and it erased all that I had recorded was just lucky enough to catch who got kicked off on DWTS. Just little things like this has followed me all week. Hope it all gets back to normal next week, I can screw up enough on my own but not every day!
Diana came out for a visit yesterday, it was so nice to see her. When she went home, she found a bouquet of flowers from Todd, thanking her for all she has done for him...just when I think he is lost, he comes up with something wonderful....love him
Well I guess that is enough rambling for this week. Hope you have a wonderful week and remember no one loves you like you do!
Lot's of Love,
a, aa ~g~
