"Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans" John Lemnon
Good morning all, what a busy week this has been, we are still getting the much needed rain, which is good in many ways but the Shuttle cannot launch in it. Just let me say in the past it could not launch but this time, they stuck to the date and time and it was able to launch!
Joyce said, (and it turned out to be true) I dropped her off, Lana gave her instructions and we left her! She has had around the clock duty since she has arrived with very little relief. She is a true caregiver! Lana and I have just got to set some time aside so she can get out of the house, to go shopping, get her hair done or whatever. Like it or not, Dad is on a schedule and she keeps him on it. He still is battling his bronchitis, which really scares us but if the battle can be won Joyce will see that it is done!
Hope everyone had a great 4th, lots of food and plenty of fireworks. I went into work at the press site. Gosh it has been crazy this week, with people all over the world putting in for badges to work Press during the launch. Some of them put in the request quite sometime ago others I guess don't realize how the government works! Very slowly if it is in your favor. All of the fireworks in this neighborhood went off on the 3rd, scared my Cocoa awful! But thankfully nothing on the 4th.
Want to share this picture with you it was taken at my friend Bet & Don't house. That is a night blooming cactus up in their palm tree...beautiful isn't it!

took the picture off of face book, but I am sure they won't mind!
Dan has spent most of this week in the hospital, thankfully Stacey could stay right there with him. He has not been feeling his best but hopefully he will start feeling better very soon. Diana goes out to Salt Lake today.
It is going to be a long day for her, her flight doesn't leave until 5 something this afternoon. I will be taking her to the airport.
On Wednesday, Joyce & I took Dad out to lunch, he was quite pleased. He said it made him feel like he was living again. But that night he had a set back with his breathing and didn't sleep well. The Dr. says his chest is still very congested. We were going to take him out tonight, but since I am taking Diana to the airport we will do it tomorrow.
Gosh what a beautiful, sad launch it was yesterday. I was sure right up until about 20 minutes before we would delay...but no we went and it was great. It is sad because although they talk about all theses things that could happen nothing is in place....lots of layoff coming and now we will rely on the Russians to take us into space...sad day for this country....For those of you that get the launch envelopes, this one you will get two. One for launch and one for landing...the cancel date should be that of the launch & landing times.
Want to wish my daughter Nancy a happy 21stbirthday on Wed., the 13th, hope it is filled with joy! Also want to wish a very happy birthday to a very special person on the 15th, Happy Birthday Sherri, you deserve the best! You may not be our sister but I think you have become one by just the sheer fact that you are always there when you are needed!! The best of birthday's to you!
I guess that is it for this week, please take good care of yourself and remember no one loves you like you do! Drop me a line, would love to hear from you!
Lots of Love
