Quote for the week: "If you had a friend who talked to you like you sometimes talk to yourself, or would you continue to hang around with that person?" -- Rob Bremer Motivational Speaker
Good morning all, hope this has been a great week for you! The weather here has been quite warm with no rain, I guess that would be good if you were here on vacation but not so good if you lived here. We need rain so badly and we are restricted on how much we can water...got some work did in my yard but as always I still have a long way to go.
Things are not to different here, I give thanks everyday for my air conditioned bedroom. Bill is still wearing his flannel shirt at 90 degree's!
On Saturday off to Dad's to get ready for the Preakness! Dad had asked me to pick up some things for him at the store. Banana's, milk, and strudel! No problems with the first two, but I did get him some delicious strudel only to find out later I got the wrong strudel...mine I got in the bakery his you get in the frozen section. Didn't find out that until I was on my way home talking to Judy. But Dad didn't complain, I think he liked my strudel. Anyway is was an exciting race...started on TV about 4 and was still on when I left at quarter of 7. The winner of the Kentucky Derby was picked to win but of course didn't. Animal Kingdom was a Close 2nd....all that air time for one 3 minute race...coming up next is the Belmont on the 11 of June!
Got a note from sister-in-law Sue who made me laugh she thought when I first mentioned "Love Bugs" I was talking about the VW Beatle. Believe me these things are nasty...they are everywhere, on the road, when you get gas! All over your car, you have to wash you car everyday to get them off because they take the paint off if you don't! Thankfully they seem to be gone now!
Lana and Shari arrived home on Tuesday, Thank the good Lord, Dad might have starved to death if they hadn't. They didn't get to sleep in on Wednesday morning they had to take Dad to the grocery store...he hadn't been in 10 days. They also bought me some beautiful lilacs'...I just loved them! thanks!
My friend Karen husband Mike called me Wednesday evening saying that the surgery went well. I know she must be in a lot of pain but hopefully this will makes her feel a lot better in the long run. She is in Florida hospital and then I heard on Thursday two men had been shot in the parking garage of the hospital...I think my family is professional worriers cause right away I thought about her husband and was he all right. Thankfully he is fine, but sadly a great Dr. was shot and killed...awful!
Took my car in for repair on Tuesday. It was a small dent and they had it until Thursday. Evidently the lady that hit me didn't have or they haven't ca ought her yet insurance because I had to pay the deductible. The insurance person told me that it was obvious that it was her fault because of where the dent was and she should pay my deductible ....just made me mad to pay it because she said "This is Florida, and it is a no fault state"...and she is getting away with it!
Dad was pleased with the Dancing with the Star's outcome. Think if Kristie would have won it would have ruined the show for him. I was pleased with the outcome of American Idol, although they were both very good.
Dan is not doing the best, and he sure needs some encouraging words. He has had his first batch of Chem and really is having a hard time. Could you please take a minute from your busy day and drop him a note, it certainly would help him to feel better just knowing that you are thinking about him/praying for him. His e-mail address is DSquid72@aol.com. Diana is hanging in there and keeping her chin up but I know it is very hard. But they are both a long way from home and it looks like they will be in Salt Lake until the 9th.
Judy is off this weekend to stay with Jess. Kyle and Erica will be away and Casey is going to a wedding (gosh there seems to be a lot of those lately) So Judy will be a stand in while he is gone.
Baxley Manor day was yesterday, they are moving and it really has me upset. I have dropped the ball on this one I am not sure what is going on. It is a distance from where they are now, and we were told they would be bussed there. Got to get busy next week and find out what is going on!
What do you have planned for the long weekend? I tell you being retired it is just another day, important day. I know at home you had the cemetery plots with flowers and parades, lots of cook outs. Whatever is in you plans hope you have a safe memorial day weekend!
Next week we have the last shuttle Atlantis roll-out on the 31st. On the 1st at 2:30 in the morning we will have the final landing of Endeavor...these are sad times.....
Want to wish a very happy birthday to nephew Peter Paige on the 2nd, hope it is the best yet! A very happy anniversary to friends Mike and Elaine this weekend!
Well as you can see I don't have a lot to say...so I hope that you have a wonderful week and remember take good care of yourself, cause no one loves you like you do!
Lots of Love
