February 19, 2011

Good morning all, hope that you have had a great week?  Some of you I have not heard from in quite some time drop me a line want to know how things are going with you.

The weather here has been great as far as I am concerned.  Got to work in the yard but believe me there is a lot to do out there.  Discovered a pepper tree that has really out did itself in the last couple of months and is slowly moving out into the lawn.  So although I have much to do in my flower beds, it looks like Tim the Tool man will have to get her power saw out and start on that tree!

Dad and I went back to Olive Garden for dinner last week.  I swear no one eats at home anymore all the restaurants are always full and so are their handicap slots.  Dad gets out of breath very easy so I have to try to get him as close to the door as possible.  Anyway he really like Olive Garden and sometimes I think it is because of the coffee.  He has to have hot coffee and so far theirs has always been hot!

Now you are in for me whining a little bit.  Don't get me wrong I love my lap top but really prefer my desk top.  Besides the screen on my desk top is large.  Anyway this week the monitor on my desktop decided to go to sleep!  It is really irritating to me, cause it keeps winking at me!  Shari has don't some research on it, but so far no answers!  I have unplugged it, turned it off just about anything you can think of and it won't come on!  It isn't very old and although a friend from work said if it was a ViewSonic, I should dig a hole in the back yard and bury it.  My expert Shari says it is a great monitor!  Although I don't know about that the only thing I do know is when I turn it on I want it to come on....so that will be an on going problem till I can get it fixed or get a new on.

More whining...haven't put the vacuum in the pool for a couple of months but decided to do that on Wednesday morning before I went to Dad's.  Guess what?  The vacuum was broken!   Don't know how that happen it was working fine the last time I used it!  That is two things that went wrong this week and when I seen the full moon Thursday evening just knew the third would follow  But so far I am keeping my fingers crossed!

Got to tell you, Dad has been waking up about 4 in the morning and can't go back to sleep.  He complains about it all the time because that is when he gets his best worrying in   Judy thinks it is because he is drinking to much caffeine.  She had suggested to him that he should try non-coffeined tea  but he wouldn't have it.  So last Saturday when I was down there I put some in his jar.  I was feeling quite good that he didn't notice it but.....yes he did notice it and Lana got the blame for doing it.  He never said a word to me, and he is drinking it but told Diana now he would sleep more in the day time but never mentioned if it helped him sleep longer at night.

So how was your Valentine's day?  Got great news from Sue & Paul they finally sold their house in NJ.  They love it where they are at and now they can really enjoy it!  Bill was going out to get me something for Valentine's Day and I asked him what he had in mind.  He assured me that I would love it.  Well he has done this in the past and got to say I really didn't love it.  So I jumped right in with a suggestion....how about a bag of potting soil?   So I showed him just what I would like....he knew just what I wanted  Well I got the 2 1/2 cubic bag of potting soil but it wasn't the kind I asked for but it will work!    The only problem I had was unloading it from the truck and getting it to where I wanted it.  But got to say it was the best Valentine's Day gift that he has ever purchased for me.

On Thursday I took Bill to the VA to see his skin Dr.  The bad news is they found more cancer in his ear.  He took test samples and Bill has to go back on the 3rd to find out what they will do about it.

Yesterday was Baxley Manor Day, we are always amazed how much everyone comes thru for us to help make their lives there a little better.  Lori and Jan look for every bargain possible because  of that we are keeping their shelves stocked.  The people there are always so happy to see us.  They may not be getting Charmin for toilet paper, or All to wash their clothes but they always have the toilet paper and detergent to wash their clothes.

Judy and Kyle are on their way here, they started yesterday so hopefully if all goes well they will arrive this evening.  Dad doesn't know that Kyle is coming so it will be quite a surprise for him.  I called her on the road yesterday to tell her the temp here so I hope they packed for it...it is supposed to be 80 or above all next week.

Last week Dad had a brilliant idea, so he canceled his car insurance and took the tag off his car.  Never thinking that most of my sisters use it when they are here.  He feels bad that he did it and hopefully Judy can work it out.

The shuttle is set to go on Thursday at 4:50.  I am scheduled to go in every morning at 8-12 and Thursday 11 to launch.  So no working in the yard, although I might be cutting some of that pepper tree everyday, got to get rid of it!

A very Happy Birthday to great nephew Westley on the 23rd...it is one of the big ones...he will be 18.  The best of Birthday's to you dear Westley!  Then a big 24th Wedding Anniversary wish to Lynn & Chris...hope you celebrate it like you did on your wedding day!!

I guess that is about it for this week, sure hope next week is better for all of us.  Please take good care of yourself, because remember no one loves you like you do!
