January 29, 2011

Good morning all, hope this has been a great week for you.  The weather here has been crazy to say the least.  One day it will be nice and the temp comfortable, the next cloudy with lots of rain, wind.  On Tuesday we had quite a storm.  That was all that was on TV saying how bad it would be.  Winds up to 50 miles per hour, hail etc.  It was right at dinner time and I hurried to get dinner on because I thought the electric might go out.  It was very windy don't know if it was 50 miles an hour or not and driving rain.  Bill heard something and knew something had happened next door.  I went out and looked but couldn't see anything but boy did I in the morning.  A very large tree in our hedge row had come down and just missed the house but did manage to smash our fence.  Thankfully Nancy's Steve does that sort of thing and was suppose to come yesterday and take care of it.  Bill is driving me crazy wanting to know when he is going to come.  He does have a full time other job you know.

Dad and I dined at Longhorn on Saturday evening.  Sorry I don't remember what steak he had but he was very impressed with it.  He said it cut just like butter and it was very tasty.   WEW!  That restaurant is safe for another time.

I am sorry I just can't get that awful explosion that we had last Friday off my mind.  It was a miracle that only two people were killed.  If you are not familiar with the area that is a  very heavily traveled road.  Plus at the time the people from the Space Center were on their route home thru there.     In this picture you can see the pick-up that hit the tanker on the bank.

Here is what is left of the tanker truck.

It is something that the people that live on my side of the island have to face everyday if they got to town, plus those people at the Center that chose to use that route.  The construction company that got the job has until the 16 of February to have the job completed.    It is not to bad going to town, but it is a real pain coming back, the wait sometimes is as much as 45 min's.  Still glad I live where I do, but it certainly is a problem.

On Monday I had my Local Planning Agency meeting in Viera.  It last all of ten min.  A good number of the board have to travel 30 miles or more and was not happy with that meeting.

After the meeting I met friend Karen for dinner.  Can't say we really worked on solving the problems of the world this time.  Her horse Bo was out in the area where they let the horse roam and somehow he got cut above his eye.  They can't figure out how it happened.  He had to have stitches but he seems to be doing fine.  She loves that horse and everything there is to do with him.  He is her baby, not to mention the cats she has at home.

Took Bill to the VA on Tuesday and they have decided to remove both of the gangling cyst that he has.  On on his left forearm and the other on his right hand.  It really worries me, because they have warned that one slip and he can lose the use of his hand.......he is schedule for test on the 1st and then they will set the surgery date.

Dad has been having a great time.  Shari Dad sent him a puzzle.  He has worked over a week on it.  It was only a nine piece puzzle but he had a hard time finding which one  was the center.  But he did it and he was so proud of himself.

Good news, Todd is back working at UPS.  I just hope that it isn't too much for him going to school also.

For those of you that don't live in the snow, thought you would appreciate this picture.

The Marshall's in NJ got plenty of snow...but the cute thing about this picture is if you got to this site it is the same picture but you can see Lilly chasing the ball in all that snow.

Bought a new timer for my yard lights.  Darn if I can figure out how to set it.  The print on the paper is so small you need a magnify glass to read it.  Bill tried to set it, I tried and then I took it to Home Depot and the guy set it for me and it still doesn't work...any suggestions

Speaking of snow, my friend Letty tells me there are now 6 Amish families living on the Forest Ave Rd.  Letty Dad would like to know what farms they are on.

Well I guess that is it for this week, hope all goes well with you.  Let me hear from you, and remember take good care of yourself, cause no one loves you like you do.

Lots of Love
