January 22, 2011

Good morning all, how was your week.  The weather here has been fairly good.  We did have quite a rain storm on Monday, but the rest of the week has been....great!  On Friday it rained all day, which we need badly, I told Bill I could almost watch the grass getting greener and growing at the same time.

I tell you my friend Bet continues to spoil my Dad.  On Saturday I took him more peanut bridle, plus she made chocolate fudge with peanut butter.  All thou he says he doesn't eat very much you can be sure that it won't go to waste.   She also gave me some wonderful tomatoes, don't know how she did it but her plant is still blooming.  Not a thing in my yard is blooming I will tell you that.

Also on Saturday I went to Dad's for my visit.  Off to Olive Garden we went.  I think the Olive Garden is the busiest place in Melbourne or so it seems.  They were packed and we had to wait a lot longer than we had ever waited.  Finally got seated and it seemed forever before we were waited on.  I was getting nervous about that I tell you...he doesn't like to wait.  But thankfully he didn't seem to mind it this time...WEW and another restaurant saved.

Nephew Mark & his wife Carol and their two son's took a cruise over thanksgiving and had a wonderful time.  He purchased a $50 camera and took these wonderful pictures...in the first one his son Steve at Trunk Bay, St. John VI.  I would love to do that but have a hard time just putting my head underwater.

and these two beautiful pictures were taken snorkeling at the Castaway Cay, Bahamas.

Something I heard on the radio the other day...did you know if you take your age this year and add the year you were born, it will always come out 111?

Got a birthday this week, and it is always a special birthday for him, in the beginning he had a hard time surviving but he is doing great now.  Great nephew Jacob will be 11 on the 26th.   He has requested that his grand mother makes her special spaghetti...hope it is one of the best birthday's Jake!

I am sending you some pictures that were sent to me by one of Clyde's cousins, it is the Amish harvesting ice from a pond.  It happened in Northern Maine, I found it interesting, thought that you would also.  I am sending it separate from Just Chatting.

Tuesday, I met Bet for lunch at El Tuscan's, love that place but only get to go there when Bet is free.  Wish I could say we solved the problems of the world, but we had a great lunch and it had been quite sometime since we had  a chance to talk.

Was so proud of myself on Wednesday morning, got busy and cut back most of my roses and had the barrel out to the street before the trash man came.  I have these old lappers which need to be sharpen, which I figured would cost me as much a new pair.  Gosh, they work good, no effort at all trimming things back.  Don't dare to cut anything back except the roses, don't want to get new growth and then we have another cold snap.

Thursday evening I attend a FEW (Federally Employed Women) meeting in Rockledge.  It had been quite some time since I had attended a meeting.  Quite a few of them had been sending me notes will I was sick and I decided I needed to show them I had survived.   The topic was Diversity and I must say I was not impressed with the speaker...but it was nice seeing everyone.

On Friday I had my appointment with Nancy and got a perm.   Got home about 3.  Around 3:50 or so right at the Barge cannel a gas tanker exploded.  It really makes you think, we travel that area just about everyday, a little later and Diana, or Dan, Nancy or I  could have been there.  Scary!

Well I guess that is it for this week, let me hear from you and please take good care of yourself, cause no one loves you like you do!

Lots of Love
