Good morning all, hope that you have had a great week. The weather here has been mixed we have had some nice warm days and then back to cool again. But as I have said many times we can't complain just up the road in Atlanta, they have had snow and ice...so far I can never remember us being snowed in here on MI, so that is something to be thankful for.
I always debate with myself about where to take Dad to dinner. Although he says he is easy to please, that is not the case. But he really needs to get out of the house, he never leaves it unless it is a Dr. appointment or something of that nature. I decided to take him to Applebee's which turned out to be a big mistake. He always get the bourbon steak, but they had a new item on the menu, that really attracted him. It was a steak with onions, & peppers and fried potatoes. Of course the first thing was coffee...he said it was barely warm. Asked to have another cup and that also was not hot. Then the meal came and his stomack couldn't take. The steak had too much fat on it, and the potatoes and peppers (he said) looked like they had been sitting on the stove for two days! So needless to say we won't be going back to Applebee's for a while!
Fixed the drinks at the church on Sunday and then returned for services after that. I no sooner got home and I started coughing again with a runny nose! I was so sure that I was going to get sick again, but thankfully when I got up on Monday I was fine!
On Monday I had my Planning & Zoning meeting. I think that it was the craziest meeting that I had ever attended. For an hour the board debated about changing zoning from heavy residental to aggriculture. The big thing was the neighbors next to the property was the owners. They had 17 + acres. Other neighbors were there not wanting the zoining to change because it might bring city water to the area. Honestly the whole thing did not make sense...there were other items also but I think this one took the ribbon!
Got a call from my old friend Shirley on Monday evening. What a surprise I was so pleased she called. It just so happened when she called I was on Skypes with my sisters. Just can't tell you how great Skypes is, you can talk to anyone anywhere and see them and it is free. If you have family or friends that live away from you it is so nice to be able to see that they are fine, when they say it. If you don't have it, you need to look into it. Dad uses it all the time. If you don't have a camera on your computer, they are not expensive and it is well worth it. Check it out http://skype.software.en.softonic.com/download
On Wednesday I ventured out to Dad's....gosh the wind was cold. I know many of you think that is silly much colder where you are at...but while many of you were having snow days we were also having the wind. No matter what you had on it went right thru you. Dad & I had a nice lunch & visit. We talked about the many snow days we remembered. I of course remembered the big snowplow with the snow blower on it it. Helen & I would just about finish up shoveling the drive way when here it would come blowing the snow have way up the drive way again. Oh well it just made us stronger right! I talked to my friend Ann in Ohio and a young man offered to shovel out her drive way for $12. She is 80 and could not see paying that kind of money out so she did it herself. Of course she is paying for it in pain now...
I had a bunch of carrots left and I wanted to give it to "Beautiful" but she was never out there when I went out. Bill suggested that I put them in the car that way if I seen her I could feed them to her. Don't know if you remember her or not...but she is in the pasture not far from my house. No one ever rides her, they just come and fed her once a day.

Anyway when I went out on Thursday she was so I could see her. She knew right away that she was going to be fed and came almost running to the fence. She ate all that I had and sure would have eaten more if I would had it.
Gosh, I tell you I can not get over the cost of insurance. It keeps going up, I think my medicare payments have gone up at least $100 or more since I started on it. How can someone that is just on SS afford it?
This weekend Judy & Greg are suppose to have Christmas at Jess & Kyles . Erica was sick, and the boiler went out on Jess & Cassey furnace. There was some debate about if they should go, I am sure they are on the road now. Late Christmas but everyone is looking forward to it. Just hope that the roads are clean and the furnace is working...you know Judy she can find something to worry about very easily. But on the other hand think it runs in the family.
A couple of weeks ago Krista fell, and landed on her hand. It really bothered her and she went to the Dr. He told her she had just sprained it badly and it would be alright. Well it didn't get alright so she went to a specialist, who told her she had broken a bone in the middle of her hand, and it will take a while to heal. She is quite upset about that, not only is she a full time student, she is a server at Grill's at the Port. Thankfully they have been good about it, they have put her back as a hostess until she can serve again.
Well I guess that is about it for this week, not too much new. Please take good care of you, cause no one loves you like you do! Let me hear from you!
Lots of Love
