November 13, 2010

Good morning or afternoon...or evening whenever you read this.  Hope that you have had a great week.  Got to say mine was a bit busy and stayed on the road just about everyday.

The weather here has been a bit chilly, but I love it, I think it refreshes you.  Bill of course has been freezing, with the temp on 90 in the house and wearing his heavy winter coat!  There is just so much I can take off

Last Saturday was an experience for all of us.  Dad could not hear anything.  He keeps a small pad by his chair for his grocery list and did not want us to use it because that stuff is expensive.    But out to dinner we went, had a nice meal at Longhorn not a word was spoken.  Lana has treated his ears several times but it just doesn't seem to be working.  She had made an appointment for him with an Otolaryngologist but he can't get in until the 1st of December.  I always knew my hand writing was not very good, but when I was down there on Wednesday I knew I had not gotten any better Thanks the good Lord for typewriters and computers!(By the way I took my own pad of paper as not to use his.  Lana is doing the best she can to help him, but it sure seems strange that I am not able to talk to him every night.  Not that we have that much to talk about, it just that I have the peace of mind that he is ok.

For those of you that are wondering did I give in on my wish to skip church last Sunday and my responsibilities?    Of course I went to Church and fixed the drinks.  The one thing I learned from that is if anyone else has to fix the drinks, they have to buy ice.   Never realized that, I always take my own ice.

On Monday I had my county Planning & Zoning meeting in Viera.  It wasn't a long meeting...how about 12 minutes, then we took another 20 minutes to decide if we should combine the two meeting Planning & Zoning and the Local Planning agency.  Some people were concerned about the distance that we drive to get to the meetings and in 12 minutes it is over.  I felt very strongly that we should not because people get very confused now about the difference of the Comprehensive Plan and Zoning...two different things.  I am happy to say I won on this one, I think it is an honor to serve and if it isn't for some people they should say so.

On Tuesday morning took Bill for his Dr. appointment at the VA in Vi era.  Sometimes I get very concerned about them don't think they really look into some of the stuff.  I had to push the Dr. to check his medical records about his hospital visit and make him talk to Bill about it.  But all went fairly well, he had his ears cleaned and we made an appointment to have the cyst on his hand drained again.

Sister Joyce or should I say Maine House Representative Joyce will be sworn in for her new duties on the 1st of December.  I really wish I could be there for her proud moment but I wish her well.  It seems in Maine they are doing the same as they are in Florida, once one party has a lead they refuse to work with the other party...what is this country coming 2?

On Thursday, I took all my plants that I had started over to the church.  Today is the big once a year fair day.  The ladies were really quite busy getting every thing ready.    Just about everyone works hard to make it successful.  All the proceeds go to the Brevard Sharing Center which is in dire need.  Got my chili all ready and will be going over about 8:30.  If you live close come on over we have something for everyone.  Of course I love the plants and I know it is a surprise but that is where I work.  What is really a shame is so many people in the area are having garage sales, Community Sales...hope it doesn't effect us.

Friday we were up bright and early to get ready for Bill's visit to the VA in Orlando.  He sees the skin specialist, thankfully his ear is healing fine and he just had a few spots that had to be treated on his face.  Came home on the run, cut roses for Nancy, (she loves it when I bring fresh roses) and was off to get my hair done!

Well I guess that is about it for this week.  Hope you have a great week and remember no one loves you like you do!

Lots of Love

"Life is a series of experiences, each of which makes us bigger, even though it is hard to realize this.  For the world was built to develop character, and we must learn that the setbacks and grief which we endure help us in our marching onward."

Henry Ford  (July 30, 1863 – April 7, 1947) was a prominent American industrialist, the founder of the Ford Motor Company, and sponsor of the development of the assembly line technique of mass production.
