September 25, 2010

Good Morning all, hope that you have had a great week.  This has been a busy week, not too much got accomplished in the yard, hopefully I will get some of it done next week.  I am so excited, I ordered and received my new pole power saw.  Got lots of trimming to do with that, plus watch out vines I am coming after you!

On Saturday, Dad and I had a nice visit and we went to dinner at Longhorn's.  He really enjoyed his steak but comment that since they have redone the place it is quite dark in there.  He doesn't like that because if it is dark they must be hiding something.

As I mentioned last week Dad's car died and he has a favorite place to take it.  They do good work and he likes them.  I had told him to wait until I came down on Wed and we would get AAA to haul it down there, but no he couldn't wait.  He had Nancy take him down on Monday and he made arrangements for them to come and get it.  They gave him a quote of $600 but he didn't remember what they said was wrong.

Lana hired some autistic young people to mow Dad's lawn.  They have been doing her's for a while.  They did a great job and I am sure she will get them to do it again.

Bet and I volunteered to work Roll-out of Discovery to the pad.  What an awesome sight!  We were not sure how long we would be out there on Monday night but sadly we did not have the press that we expected so we went in at 6 and came home at 9.  Then on Tuesday, we went back out to work the sunrise pictures for the press.  We had to be there at 5:30 am.  Got to say I can't believe that they can take so many pictures from dark till the sun came up.  But it was an awesome sight!

On Wednesday, I went down to Dad's and found out his TV had died that morning.  The two most important things to him is his computer and the TV.  Lana & Shari carried it out to the curb and off we went to HHGreg's in Palm Bay.  He purchased a TV that would fit in his entertainment center and he was ready to go home.  But we stopped at the Harbor City Dinner for lunch, then home we went to get the TV set up.  Shari got everthing set up but his ears and she is looking into that.  He really misses them, I guess it is easier for him to hear at night.  But all and all he spent his whole SS check this week.....sad

Got a note from Clyde's sister Sue thanking me for the birthday wishes and I just have to share what she said, thought it was cute.   "If I make it to another year I won't know what to call it.  I just got through with 76 trombones led the big parade and now I am on 77 Sunset Strip.  I don't know anything for 78!"  I think she should call it 78 record and still going!

Speaking of Birthday wishes I would like to wish dear friends J'mee and Elaine a very happy birthday today!  Hope you have the best of days.  Then tomorrow, my baby will turn 21 (45), dam time flies can not believe he is that age, I am only 22 myself   Happy Birthday dear one!!!   Then on the 30th Lodema Adams will celebrate, a very Happy Birthday to you!

Yesterday turned out to be quite a busy day.  It was Baxley Manor day and a lady I know from work called and she had a bunch of stuff to give me.  But first I had to take the drinks to the church for Sunday.  Gosh, she had a lot of stuff, sheets, comforter's lots of things that they can use.  It filled my trunk and back seat.  Then I stopped at Bet's and picked up her donation as well as Karen's.  Didn't think I would make it there by 11:30 but I did.  All went well and their pantry is now full again with food.  So that makes it a good day!

Someone backed into Bill's truck and broke the brake light.  He decided the other day he would put it in himself.  He went over and picked it up and the cost was $80.  I just knew in the back of my mind that it would never get done.  Well when I got home from getting my hair done here he was fooling with it.  He couldn't get down and if he did he can't get back up.  So you know what is coming don't you?   It was a simple operations, I got down and cut the strap that was holding the cord, unhooked it and hooked up the other one...sounds easy, but it was a little confusing....hope we don't have to do that again.

Well I guess I have ranted on enough...please let me hear the news where you are and how everyone is doing.  Remember take good care of yourself, because no loves you like you do!

Lots of Love
