Good morning all, hope that you have had a great week or so. Got to say that we have had some wonderful weather. Both days coming up were beautiful, no rain and only seen a few minor accidents.
Love the part were we dive thru the Shenandoah area, always reminds me of my nephew William. I took him and my Mom to Maine one year. I think he was about 12, I told him that you should learn something new each day. He reminded me that he was on vacation. But none the less he learned each state that we went thru on the trip, when we would go into another state I would asked him to name them all, it turned out to be fun in the long run.
We seen no effects of Earl before we got here or after. But the weather did turn cooler and I got some of the weather I have been looking for. Sunday and Monday it was in the 40's in the morning. Where the Marshall's live it quite rustic, all the houses are quite old and most of them have been modernized. The street was they live is a narrow two lane road and hilly, it is really beautiful there. I really enjoyed sitting on the front porch watching all the neighbors coming and going, it is almost like old times when we would all go to the Fort and park on Main St and see everyone we knew.
On Labor Day Judy & Greg took me to Bethlehem, Pa which was wonderful. We went to the Sand's which is a casino and we all came out even which is great! Then I never thought that I would ever go to an Emerl's restaurant but we had dinner there that night. It was great, so glad I had that experience. It was a wonderful treat for me!
Judy & I went to the Veggie Stand several times and got tomatoes, gosh they were great. We have ok tomatoes in Florida but you can't beat the ones from up north.
Soon it was time to be on the road again heading to Maine. We left the Marshall's house about 8 or so in order to get to Portland, so we could take Diana to get the rental car. We arrived there in plenty of time, since Greg and I hit the bed early we left Judy there to do all the work. But all went smoothly and they were at the hotel in Bangor around 10. But as I said...don't know about Greg but I was in bed and asleep by the time they arrived.
Lana & Shari did not come to Bangor that Thursday, they stayed with Helen in Winslow. But by Friday we were all there...it was wonderful having all your family around you, missing from my family and it would have been great if Dan (dog watcher they have 3 dogs)Bill (1 very spoiled dog) Stacey, who has a new job and couldn't take leave, Pat & Dave and of course Dad. But we cept in close contact with Dad the whole time we were gone. It really would have been perfect if they all could have been there.
The wedding was beautiful, it was out door, and the sun was setting...The bride was beautiful, not to mention how handsome the groom was in his police uniform. Here is a picture of "the sisters" with the bride & groom.

We all had a wonderful time, lots of laughter, some dancing...it was great!
Had made plans to meet my niece Ann in Bangor, but between all the hassle and bustle it was not possible. But you can be sure if or when I return that is going to happen. It has been so long since I have seen her.
On Sunday morning we all left for our prospective places...Judy & family spent most of the day in Portland and then on to Boston where both of her children live. Helen, Joyce & Jeff headed home. Lana & Shari did the costal tour looking for light houses heading for Portland. My gang did not detour...we headed for the Holiday Inn Bay Side in Portland, which was quite nice but expensive (just in case you were wondering)
On Monday we flew out of Portland on Air Tran, If you have long legs I would not recommend that air line for you. The seats are very close together. The airline looks like it is the cheapest way to fly but believe me by the time you pay for all the extra's is certainly is not. If you have had a good experience with them great...but I certainly wouldn't recommend them
All rested from my trip I hit the ground running, Bill had a gangling cyst on his hand and it was growing, plus he was having a hard time using it. So off to the VA we went got that taken care off and he had a stitch come lose in his eye that he had cataract surgery on two years ago. They drained the cyst, and took the stitch out so he seems to be doing fine now.
Dad was quite upset he got his car insurance bill and it went up. He really needs to get rid of the car but won't because he is sure that the next time he goes to the Dr. he will let him drive.
Got to brag a little bit here, remember I told you about my great nephew Alex participating in "We the People" for his school they went all the way to nationals before the were stopped. Anyway, this last week he voted for in the primary for the first time.

Although he is 17 his birthday (10/23) will be before the Nov. 2nd election and in NH if this is the case you can vote. A couple of days later the State Attorney's office called because he had voted illegally. This young man knows the law and I hope they apologized to him for his trouble. I am so proud of him, so many people don't vote and now we know at least one young man knows what he is doing!!!
First of all I want to begin by wishing all those who have had birthday's since my last Just Chatting David Adams celebrated on the 2nd of Sept, Gert Adams celebrated on the same day. Bud Adams celebrated on the 3rd, Sue Bennett on the 8th and Casey Forbes on the 16th. Hope you all had a wonderful day. Then on the 5th sister Joyce & Jeff celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary. The very best to them!!! Now for this coming week...On the 18th sister Judy & Greg will celebrate their 39th wedding anniversary. Many blessing in store for them as well! Then on the 19th Erica Marshall will celebrate her birthday, wishing you the best of birthdays....now I think we are caught up.
Worried about my plants the whole time I was gone...some of them made it, others did not fair so well.
Want to thank all for a wonderful time in Maine and NJ....I love it up there but wouldn't want to be there in the winter
Let me hear from you, I don't hear often enough. Remember please take good care of you, cause no one loves you like yo do!!!
Lots of Love
