August 7, 2010

Good mooring all hope that you have had a great week.  Mine has been pretty busy but not in my yard.  How is the weather were you are?  It has been sometimes in the triple digits here, I feel so sorry for those people that have to work outside in it.  (like my daughter).

First of all I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for the cards you sent my Dad for his birthday.   Especially the grandchildren & great grandchildren....he was so pleased he cried.   Thanks again for making his day.   When I was down on Tuesday he still had them up, he was leaving them so Lana could see them.

Now I want to tell you about my bird feeder, just in case you were wondering.  Got a note from our resident animal person and she told me that "food must be clearly visible with that kind of feeder for them to land on it for feeding purposes."  So I came up with this bright idea before I went to sleep Sat.  evening.  How about using a 2 liter bottle to make a cylinder.  I check with a couple of people to see what they thought, one thought it was a great idea, the other asked me the measurements of the cylinder...which got me to thinking....Although it sounded like it was a great idea...the bottle was not as tall as the cylinder...but the good news is it was slightly larger around.   I cut it slipped it over the existing one...cut new holes for the feeder and I am now back in business.  The birds are back and I am pleased.

Speaking of my resident animal person, I understand she trip over a toy and broke her leg.  Sorry about that Lisa...I also did a wonderful thing on Monday...had my hands filled going out the door and tripped over the outside rug and fell!  OUCH!  I am very lucky that I didn't break anything but did bruise all my left side.  My knee is swollen and it hurts but again I am very lucky.

On Tuesday I took Dad to the Court House.  He found out a couple of weeks ago that there is a special tax deduction on his property tax if he is over 65 and meets the income criteria.   Last Wednesday we went down and the lady gave him the list of things he needed to qualify.  So on Tuesday I thought that we were all set but no....he forgot to bring his slip from SS.  The good news is we did get it filed but it isn't complete so next Tuesday we have to go back.  We have until the 1st of September so hopefully we can get it done by then.

On Wednesday I took Bill for his six month check up at the VA.  His bp was a little high, he is anemic (which is not unusual for his age we were told) and that he now weights 146 lbs.  According to the Dr. he is in great health and he will see him in six months!

Did get some work in the yard done on Thursday before I was off running to the store.

First of all I would like to apologize to my cousin Gloria for forgetting her birthday yesterday.   Hope it was a happy one.  Then I told every one she was the same age as Lana....which is wrong...she and Judy are the same age.  Hopefully I won't mess this up again.

This week I want to wish dear friends Paul & Mary a very happy anniversary on Sunday.  Then  Eric & Kyle will celebrate their 2nd anniversary on the 9th.  Hope you have a wonderful Day !  Then on the 12th my brother-in-law Jeff will celebrate his 21st birthday.  Make it the best day this year Jeff!!!

Got some wonderful pictures from brother-in-law David.  He is becoming quite the photo person....isn't this beautiful.

and this one.....

Helen decided to return home to Maine yesterday.  She had a nice visit with her son and family in ALBQ but felt it was time to come home.

Good news is my friend Bet & her husband has returned from their wonderful trip out west.  They had a great time and seen some beautiful things, but it is nice to have them back home.

Next week promises to be a fairly busy one also...Monday I have my P&Z meeting in Viera, Tuesday morning I take Diana to the plane.  She is flying to NJ to ride back with Judy and of course take Dad to the Court House.  Wednesday ,Bill is having surgery on his ear and they will be doing some plastic surgery also.  He also has an appoint again on Thursday in Orlando but hopefully we can get it all taken care of on Wednesday.  All and all pretty much just running around...

Well I guess that is about it for for this week, hope all is well with you and yours!  Remember take good care of yourself because no one loves you like you do!

Lots of Love
