August 14, 2010

Good morning all, hope that you have had a great week, and that you are all feeling just great!  If not hope that happens very soon.

I am sure that you are tired of hearing about my bird feeders  I have never been a segregationists  but with my bird feeders I am slowly becoming so!   The black birds are driving all the others away, you may not believe it but even the black pig ions are raiding the feeder.  Their wings flapping so hard you wouldn't believe it.  Now we know they can see color...but I wonder if I put a sign up if they would read it!

On Saturday, Dad and I went to Longhorn for dinner.  They are redoing the place and thing seemed very confusing.  We ended up having to sit at a both, which Dad doesn't like because it is hard for him to get in and out with his cane.  But we did have a good meal, Dad finished up quickly like usual and waited for me outside.

On Saturday was the big international parade between St. Stephen, NB CA and Calais, Me.  Sister Joyce and her following was in the parade...her daughter, from NH, her son from Wisscasset, Me, grandson and future daughter in law all participated as well as her husband of course and a few others.   Here they are.

Don't know who mows your church lawn but ours is mowed by volunteers.  There are several of them that mow but it is mainly done by one man who is the same age as I am....Who says you have to get feeble when you get old.  That is a lot of lawn to mow, wonder just how many people thank him for a job well done!   Of course on Sunday I went and fixed the drinks at Church and then went back for services at 8.  I am concerned because I am trying to find someone to do that for me when I take my trip to Maine but I am having some trouble with it.

On Monday, I had my Planning & Zoning Meeting in Viera.  We did not have a long agenda and the chair was not in attendance so that left me to run the meeting.  We had one item for a 30 acre borrow pit of Babcock and there were about 30-40 people there to speak on the danger of what would happen to them if it was permitted.   I started off telling them that everyone could speak their five minutes but not to be repetitive.  Of course that wasn't going to happen...they do not have the city water and they are concerned about their wells, the air quality etc.  Along with that this same item had come up in 06 and at that time one of the members of my board had an interest in the property and did not vote.  But now he has nothing to do with it and said so.  Two of the women that spoke tore him a new butt and said that he should not be able to vote on the item.   After several people had spoken one of those ladies and a couple of more repeats wanted to speak again and I said NO.  The lady insisted that she wanted to address the water and not the member this time.   At that time one of the members of our board that is running for County Commissioner blared out loudly to the staff that what I was doing was wrong, he believed in Free Speech and he even thought that it was illegal what I was doing...Thank goodness the staff back me up but it sure had the hair standing up on the back of my neck!  I did allow the lady to talk and it was denied but what a meeting!

Wanted to share one of the pictures that Bet & Don took on their trip around the country....it is so beautiful it is Bryce Canyon Utah National Park.  Don't think this is only one of a few pictures they took...I think they took thousands and they were all beautiful the wonders of nature!

On Tuesday morning nice and early (5) I was up and on my way to take Diana to the airport.  She was waiting for me when I got there and all went well.   She had a great trip and arrived safely at Judy's.

Came back home and had my breakfast and was off to Dad's to take him to the court house to finish up his paper work.  All went smoothly and he has that all taken care of.  Then we went to lunch at the Harbor City Dinner.  I will tell you one thing if you are very hungry that is the place to go!  They give you so much it is almost sinful because most people cannot eat that much.  But Dad has decided it is a good place because they are always packed.

On Wednesday we were off an running early because of Bill appointment at the VA in Orlando at 9.  I tell you we were not in there 15 minutes when he was so cold he was shaking.   His blood pressure was high and the nurse was concerned.  She came out to me after they took him in for the surgery and expressed her concern that he wasn't taking his med's like he should.  There is much more to this story but the surgery went well and we were back home by 1.  He has a return visit next Thursday to take the stitches out.

On Thursday we had Dad's lawn sprayed for flee's.  Want to make sure that when Judy gets here the place is not infested with flee's.  Bless Lana heart, she went down to be there when he came...I was just wore out.

Yesterday I got out and worked in the yard again, it is a slow process and I think a losing cause but I am going to stay on those vines to make sure they don't get worse.  It is very difficult to lean over the fence and cut but that power saw is doing a great job.  I have found out that they also have a rechargeable pole saw which is something I am looking into.

Also got my hair and nails done yesterday, and Nancy was down in the dumps...it seems business has been extra slow this week.

Well what a shock I got last night, I thought that Judy and Diana were leaving tomorrow for the trip back to Florida.  Last night they were in Wilson, NC, so they should be home today that is if they don't decide to take a side trip to see something new.

Please say a special prayer for Paul Mueller in Kuwait four more months to go before he will return home.

Well I guess I have rambled on enough for today, please let me hear from you and remember take good care of yourself because no one loves you like you do!

Lots of Love

Your thoughts are powerful tools for reinventing your world. Choose the thoughts you will focus on. As you notice negative thoughts telling you it’s too hard to change, gently redirect them, as many times as it takes, to the positive track of “I can do this.”
