July 3, 2010

Good morning all, hope this has been a good week for you.  Lots of promises of rain but so far none.   Although we had high hopes for yesterday...don't remember a day like that...cloudy all day.

Got a note from Sue and they are really busy at their new place in AZ.  Just loved the fact that she was going to a program called "pamper me pretty".   They soak your hands, wax them and do your nails if you want them.  Do that twice a month...sounds like a good program to me!  So glad that she and Paul are really enjoying life.

Also heard from cousin Jack letting me know about Uncle Omar & Aunt Joyce.  Sad to say Aunt Joyce is not doing well but Uncle Omar is really hanging in there, they are both in their 80".

Cousin Gloria filled me in on Aunt Ruby and she seems to be doing well.

Joyce, Dad and I had dinner at Carrabba's last Saturday evening.  Dad wasn't too happy with the place.  First of all you could not see the menu (to dark) I gave him a flash light.  ( Joyce said she could see fine, but have to admit I didn't) Second he really didn't understand the menu....but he did ended up having steak and a salad.   The food was very good but doubt that we will be going back there soon.  But just in case I went on line and found the menu and sent it to him.  He has printed it off and saved it.  He tried to make the letters bigger on the menu but it didn't work.  He still don't know what most of the items are.  So I suggested that he goole them...we will see how that works.

I went out last Saturday just like I said and sprayed everything with Dawn soap....came in for a rest and there was a note from Karen telling me not to use Dawn soap that the de-greaser was to hard on some plants.  Don't know got a couple of them looking a little pale...hopefully it won't hurt them to bad.   But I know one thing it certainly didn't kill the little white flies that I have....I am at my wits end about those things......

Cousin Blair has sent me some beautiful sunsets from my hometown and now he has sent me the sun rising...beautiful don't you think

On Monday I took my car in for repair...what I thought was strange was my insurance company called me to tell me that they will pay 90% of my rental.  I assured them I didn't need a rental.  In the mail on Tuesday, I got a letter from them again assuring me that it was ok to rent a car and that they would pay 90% of it.  Thought that was strange...Pick my car up on Wednesday and they had don't a great job.  I hope my car will be safe from dings for a while.

Joyce returned home on Tuesday and hit the ground running, lots to do when you are running for office.  She is going to be in two parade's this week end and believe her grandchildren will be there with her...got to see of picture of the new shirts...You go Joyce!!!

Wednesday I went down to Dad's for a visit.  It is strange I think he really doesn't want anyone living with him, but he always points out to me that he is alone....When I asked him what he wanted for lunch, he said not much, he had lost his appetite since Joyce had left.  (Maybe for real food but not for sweets I can assure you!)

Took Bill to the VA Dr. on Thursday and he has cancer in his ear lobe.  They will do surgery in August and do plastic surgery on it.  He is not on coumidin but bruises very easily...he now has a lump on his hand, not sure if he hit it or it is a cyst.

Sad to say I think my orchid has had it...it is losing the blooms but got to say I have really enjoyed it.

HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY 4TH OF JULY Please take good care of you and let me hear from you!

Lots of Love
