Good morning all, hope that you have had a wonderful week. We were blessed with a couple of days it looked like rain, and a couple of days that we got some rain since my last note to you. But it has gone right back to being quite warm and humid. Of course many of you in the the north can say the same thing. I was really surprised when I read my home towm in Maine reached 89 one day. At least we are prepared for it here, not so sure about it there.
On Saturday evening Dad and I decided to go to Olive Garden for dinner. What a wonderful surprise, Lana called and she and Shari joined us. That doesn't happen very often and both Dad and I were very pleased.
I told you that Joyce had two parades last Sunday thankfully since one of them was in Eastport (coast) it was not as warm. Here she is with some of her supporter in the parade...

I believe I mentioned that she got shirts for the marchers and here to give you a better idea of what they looked like is her grandson Jake.

Sunday did my normal things...went to fix the drinks at church (6 am) then went to church at 8. Not as many as usual there I guess they had all gone away for the weekend. Of course Sunday evening we had fireworks....not as many as we use to have and not a close. But I forgot to mention Sunday morning after I came home from church my neighbor who has 40 acres was target shooting with a machine gun....not believe me that is scary.
On Wednesday I went to Dad's, he wanted to get a new filter for his air conditioner so I took him to Home Depot. I parked right next to one of those handicap carts and suggested that he use it. Oh, No he would walk he needs the exercise! He reached the front door and looked at the largeness of the building and decided it was a good idea to ride in the cart! Needless to say I was very pleased he changed his mind.
Nancy came down to visit him shortly after we returned home. It was time for his hair cut. He gets such a kick out of that because just like Mom she knows when to come and cut his hair. On my way home there was a bad accident, someone ran a red light and smashed into two other cars. A 17 year old boy was killed. What a shame!
Wanted to share this with you and it is so true espcailly today with every one having a cell phone in their hands and texting.
Got several Birthdays this week and I will start off with my sweet Nancy, she will celebrate on the 13th. They say the 13th is bad luck but she has always been a blessing to me! Go backwards a little bit friend Mike will celebrate on the 11th. Have the best of birthday's Mike!! Then there is two birthday's on the 15th Sheri & Betty V. Time just flies by when you are having fun and hope you both have a great day!!
On Thursday evening I met friend Karen for dinner and then we attended a political forum with all the candidates that are running for county commission. I really didn't want to go but felt it was my duty to go....I was so sorry that I did. Several of them felt of course we should cut the county government and one of ways we could do that was cutting out permits for everything. I was there an hour and half and felt I had done my duty....
I told you that my granddaughter Stacey had been told that her job would be cut in October. She has been franticly looking for a new job. Well the good news it she has got one in a hospital in Jacksonville. We are all so pleased for her because she was almost making herself sick over it.
Well plans are finally coming together about our future travels....Diana is flying to Judy's on the 10th and she and Judy will start back her on the 13th or 14th. Now if we can just get our plans completed for our trip to Rand & Melissa's wedding on the 11 of September we will be all set.
The only thing exciting that has happened here this week is a tree in our hedge row fell towards the house. It isn't a giant tree, but it is a good size tree. I went out there and looked it over took my power saw to it but realized right away that it was too much of a task for me. But I will keep hacking away at it, limb by limb and see what happens.
Got lots of things going on this week, so hopefully I will have something new to talk about next time. Please take good care of you, cause no one loves you as much as you should love yourself!! Let me hear from you!
Lots of Love
