Good morning all, hope this has been a great week for you. Nothing too exciting has happened here thank goodness. The weather has been going from very nice to quite cool. I know quite cool for us is not cold for many of you, but it has kept me from going out and doing yard work. That Old Gang of mine met the other night for dinner, and Betty was telling me she got a neighbor boy to come in and clean up their yard. Wish I had a neighbor boy to do that but it is left up to the woman in charge I guess.
Last Saturday evening we had dinner at the Olive Garden, think I have mentioned that Dad keeps pointing out it is a family place. Gosh it must be, I think everyone in Melbourne eats there. I always wonder if people are having such a hard time financially why are they eating out? I really think more people eat out than eat at home.
On Sunday Diana went down and was able to give Cisco a bath, it had been quite some time since he had one because it has been so cold. Cisco is not doing well, his back legs are giving out. Dad cries a lot because of it but does not have the heart to give the word to put him to sleep. Cisco is a lot like Dad he is holding on for Dad and we are all quite concerned about Dad once Cisco goes.
Also on Sunday Bet and I worked at the News Center for the landing of the Shuttle. It was real iffy for a while if we would land because of the cloud cover but it cleared of and the weather was great.
On Monday evening I had my Local Planning Agency meeting. One of the items that stick in my mind is parking of Commercial Vehicles in a residential drive way. Right now you have to have 2 1/2 acres to park in your drive way and the motion was to take it down to a half acre. No one on the board was happy with the new proposal but of course there was a reason for it. This lady who has .63 of an acre and her husband drive a tractor trailer was there asking for it. Someone had turned them in. The truck is hidden from the road when parked and all seemed fine except it was way short of 2 1/2 acres. So they (the board) voted to approve it with a conditional use permit. What that means is everyone that wants to park a commercial vehicle in their yard now must come in front of us for approval........
Birthday's do we have birthday's. On Sunday my friend Bet's husband Don will celebrate, on Monday Pat my grandson will have his day, then on Friday of next week nephew Chris will have his celebration. Want to wish you all the very best of Birthday's!
On Thursday Dad had his surgery on his leg, they took two bone chips out the size of a quarter. In a way he is very lucky because he has little or no feeling in that leg so it gave him no pain. He loved all the attention that he was getting from Lana & Helen.
Speaking of Helen she is beginning to plan her trip back to the north around the middle of March.
Sorry no pictures this week, my friend Letty in my home town usually sends me some great pictures of all the snow but have not heard from her in a while.
How is your mail and the J. C. Penney's catalog? I tell you there would be many days that I wouldn't get any mail if it wasn't for Penney's. I guess I can't complain it keeps my daughter working
Well it seems since I have turned my car in, it will not do what it was doing. So they will not accept it under the lemon law. Much more to come on this subject I am sure.
It sure is snowing in NJ, was talking to my sister Judy on Thrusday and it was snowing, talked to her yesterday and it was still snowing and on top of that their snow blower quit. Don't miss that a bit!
Well I guess that is it for my exciting week, please take good care of you and let me hear from you!
Lots of Love
