December 26, 2009

Good morning everyone!  Hope everyone had a wonderful healthy Christmas (not meaning the food we ate, I am sure we all ate more than we should).  It turned out to be a wonderful day here in Florida.  It was calling for rain but we got very little of it.

Last Saturday Dad and I had out dinner at Applebee's, he really enjoyed his steak.  But he can't understand why every restaurant doesn't have the little coffee pot like Olive Garden does that we you don't have to wait for you next cup.  I know it seems strange with all the baking I did for Christmas but I got him a Perkins pie on Saturday.  Apple is his favorite and I wasn't ready to start cooking last Sat.  He says the pie is very good but the crust is a little thick.

Sunday David & Pat took Bet and I to see the Candle light Service at Epcot.  Whoopie Goldburg was the speaker, it was very enjoyable.  We also got to eat a very nice dinner at the Mixican restaurant.  It was a long day but well worth it!

I am always talking about Bet and many of you do not know who she is
Here she is with her granddaughter & son.

For you cooks out there did you have a hard time finding pumpkin, I always use Libby's pumpkin but every store I went to was out.  I finally gave in and went to the base and thankfully they had it.

We had a couple of bits of bad news this week.  Dawn's best friend passed away she had been with him for 15 years.  Then on Christmas Eve Dan's Mom passed away.  Both of them will be greatly missed.

On Wednesday I went to visit Dad and took him a new office chair for his computer from all of the daughters.  He really seem to like it but thought it might be a little fancy for him.  The chair he had was older than most of you reading this.

Lana seems to be having a wonderful time in Rochester with all the snow.

Did all my cooking and boy was I tired when it was over, if fact I was on my last four pies and I was just about to say I quit when Nancy showed up and help me finish.  She was certainly a God send!

Had all of the family here for Christmas except Dan, he spent the day with his sisters.  I can't complain about him not being here, he has done it for 30 years so he can miss one but we sure missed him.

Got a lot of wonderful presents (yes angels) and so did Bill we are both very thankful for all that we have.

Got bunches of things to do this morning.  The rope on my bird feeder broke and I miss seeing the birds so I have to get it done today.  Then Krista wants to get a new Iphone, her's was stolen so she needs my upgrade to get another so I have to meet her.  Then Cisco is out of his pills so I have to go to the Vet and pick up his meds all before I go to Dad's this afternoon.

I guess I have just rambled on long enough, hope this finds you all well and HAPPY!  Wishing you and yours the best of the New Year

Lots of Love

Without ambition one starts nothing. Without work one finishes nothing. The prize will not be sent to you. You have to win it. The man who knows how will always have a job. The man who also knows why will always be his boss. As to methods there may be a million and then some, but principles are few. The man who grasps principles can successfully select his own methods. The man who tries methods, ignoring principles, is sure to have trouble. - Ralph Waldo Emerson
