October 24, 2009

Good Morning all!  What a week this has been, hope all has been well for you.

On Friday, Dad decided to have someone come to look at his dish washer.  It was making an awful noise.  The man came, told Dad he needed a new motor in his 10 year old dish washer and charged him $75 for telling him that.  Well that was all new to Dad, he felt that he had been taken, never heard of anyone charging just to come to his house!  Needless to say he was very upset about that, he felt that he had been taken.  Of course we are all use to that but he wasn't.  He said that man would never get his business again and on Sat.  He and Judy went to pick out a new dish washer at Lowe's.

He insisted on walking and of course the dish washers were at the other end of the store and way back.  On their way out he started to have pains in his arms, back and chest.  Of course he insisted that he was alright but of course he wasn't.  Lana was called and it was decided he needed to go to the emergency room.  Where it was determined that he had a heart attack.  He has been in the hospital all week, hopefully he will go home today.

They did a heart cath on him and he is over 80% blockage to his heart.  The Dr. decided because of his age it was detrimental for them to do stints.  It has been a hard week, Judy & Gregg was supposed to return home on Friday but have put off their departure until Dad is doing alright at home.  It has been quite scary and I have felt useless about the only thing I can do is sat and watch.  But at the end of the day I felt like I had been working hard all day.  Please keep Dad and all of us in your prayers.  Lana thinks she is supper woman and can do all that is needed which is hard to do when you work 12 hour shifts.  Judy has been just supper as always and filled with energy.

One of the many things I forgot to mention last week was we seen a Moose...Not a pleasant thing to see it was Moose Week in Maine (Hunting season)  The one we saw was  a dead one, it looked like it was quite a big one.  I remember when I was going up if you hit a Moose it was like killing a person.  But I guess they are over run with them now.

Another thing I forgot to mention was we attended a "Harvest Fair" while we were at Joyce & Jeff's.  Lots of fresh veggies and fruit, and home made items of all sorts.  Home made quilts, and lost of knitting.  As I have mentioned before sister Judy daughter Jess and her husband Casey have an internet company called Ravelry.  It is  social networking website, launched into beta in May 2007, that allows knitters and crocheters around the world to organize and share projects and ideas.  When some of these people realized that Jess was Judy's daughter we found out just what a star our Jess was.

Yesterday was Baxley Manor day, although we are still fill their needs, I am afraid the time will come that we will not be able to.  Donations are really down and although Lori and Jan get the most for the buck, if you don't have the buck...that is bad.  I know that things are bad everywhere but hopefully it will get better soon.  Soon it will be time to do the Christmas angels and I am concern that we will not be able to do it this year.

Can you imagine...one of my stars....Todd will turn 20 on the 28th, it is so hard to believe.   Please join me in wishing him a very happy birthday.

Well I guess that is about it for this week, hope you have a great week and let me hear from you.

Lots of Love
