August 15, 2009

Good morning all, hope that you have had a great week.  It has been a constant chore keeping my flowers watered, it has been quite warm.  Got some rain but not much to speak about.

Saturday Dad and I had dinner at Perkins'.  I think he really enjoyed it, I know he enjoyed the apple pie I bought him there.

Sunday I went with my old friends from work to a restaurant in New Smyrna Beach called Flip Flops.  The sign says Gourmet food with a casual atmosphere. The food was excellent, I have been accused by my family of not trying anything new so I had the Wahoo with Mango Salsa.  It was very good a little pricey for me but what do you expect when you get and orchid in your mashed potatoes.  It was great if you are every in New Smyrna I highly recommend it.

Picked up Joyce at the Sanford Airport on Monday, don't know why in the past that I have made it such a big deal...it is so easy to get to.  That plane is always late so I took my time in going to get her...guess what it came in early Nancy & Diana came over when we got home.  Nancy bought a bunch of blue crabs, gosh they were good.

Tuesday I took Joyce to pick up her rental car and off to Dad's we went.  It seems that Dad fell a couple of times on Monday and we were very concerned about it.  Joyce told him we were getting the walker out and he was going to use it.  No he said he wasn't he doesn't need it.  Besides the two times he fell was into his chair.  When I talk to him that night I asked him if he had won any battles and he said no, but he didn't lose any either

Got several pictures to share with you this week.....some are old like this one of my handsome Pat with all his red hair when he was in the Merritt Island Band.  Gosh time flies it seems like it was just yesterday.

Then there is this picture of my sister Judy when she attended her 40th class reunion.  She is beautiful inside as well as out, don't you agree?

Bill got it into his head that we need a golf cart, in the beginning the idea was for him to be able to take the trash out easily and get the paper.  But as the need grew it was for me to be able to put my yard waste in it and get it out to the road.   Then of course it will be so easy for me to spray those vines that are growing around out property.  The need grew more urgent as the weeks went by.  Sunday he saw an ad in the paper for one $1800 and he thought that was a good deal, so we called (I).  It turned out to be in Oak Hill quite a distance from here.  When Nancy was here Bill told her about looking for one and guess what she called the next day, it seemed she had a client that wanted to sell one.  So on Wednesday we became proud owners of a golf cart.  Thank goodness Steve has a way to bring it home to us, he is suppose to do that today.  Bill has great plans for it......

I told you about the horse that I have been given treats to, that is in a pasture near me.  Can't miss her I see her every time I go out and come back.   I just stop and say come here Beautiful and she snorts and comes right away.  I told you about the flies, well my friend Karen gave me some spray to put on her to help her with that, so yesterday I found out she doesn't like the spray and she certainly doesn't like Gatorade.

Attended a meeting at the Press Site on Thursday to go over the plans for launch.  The lady that is in charge will be out of town so another person will be calling the shots.  At the meeting time launch was suppose to be on the 25 by the evening news it had changed to the 24.  Next Tuesday they have the FRR and that could change again.  When we do launch it will be in the night time so it will be a wonderful site to see.

Poor Diana got bit yesterday by some kind of bug when she was delivering the mail.  It was a hornet, yellow jacket or something along that line.  Her hand swelled up all the way to the elbow.  I guess you have to be very careful when you open your mail box you never know what can be in it.  I know one time Bet found a snake in hers!

Last night I went down to Dad's, he, Joyce and I went to Carrabba's for dinner.  Dad always has a hard time choosing what he wants because they all have a Italian names.  But he settled for a nice steak and a good time was had by all.

Was really disappointed, Rand took a great picture of Jake at Fenway park in Boston.  But the picture was took small and I nor Pat could make it larger.  By the way got to give a big thanks to Pat, if I have problems with my pictures he always helps me.  Thanks so much Pat.

Tonight I am going to a 60th birthday party for my dentist.  My friend Karen and her husband are going with me.  I am sure it will be something different, because how many of you have gone to a birthday party for your dentist at a fancy hotel and he wants no presents just a donation to his soccer league

Hope you all have a wonderful week, take good care of you and yours and let me hear from you.

Lots of Love to all
