July 25, 2009

Good Morning all, hope that you have had a great week, for most of you I will never know because I don't hear from you (you know who you are)

On Saturday I went to visit Dad.  Judy had rearranged his living room so that he would have open access to the outside door.  Lana had suggested it and so it was done but when I arrived his chair was right back were it was before the move.  Also Judy had gotten that table out that I had bought for Cisco because it made it so much easier for him to eat and it worked while she was there but guess what?  The table had been put up because Cisco didn't like it.   The only reason I mention these things are I know some of you have gone through the same obstacle with your parents.  Dad says he is feeling fine but does have a loss of breath from time to time.  He seems to be back on track eating, we were worried about that for a while.  We went to Applebee's for dinner and he had a nice steak which he enjoyed.

Sisters Judy, Joyce & Helen had a great time in our old stomping area.  No David they didn't participate or see the mash potato wrestling.    They were quite surprised that the parade was canceled on Saturday and it was supposed to be on Sunday.  But they were scheduled to go back to Calais on Saturday so they missed it.  No one sent me any pictures of their great time

Mentioned last week that Lana friend Shari was celebrating her birthday.  She wanted to go to Disney.  They had a great time and just to prove it...here is Lana, hat and all.

Got to tell you though this week I have felt like Tim (the tool man) Taylor.  Got my new hedge trimmer and it is cordless.  It is so great not to have to worry about the cord.  Then I also used my new cordless power trim saw ( can't you just hear it roar  roar) what a blessing this one is, no sawing by hand for me from now on.  I just love it!

Read on line the other day that doing hair is one of the surest jobs that you can have.  I used to think that also but stop at Nancy's shop on Wednesday to take her some flowers and the only one in the shop was the receptionist.  No one was booked for that day one lady had a three hour appointment and they called and canceled.   Yesterday was my hair appointment and Nancy had no one but me... Really sad....what a struggle for people that are in that kind of job and I know it isn't just here in Florida other area's are effected also.

On Monday I had my Local Planning agency meeting.  We were there to either approve or disapprove the future land use in some area's.  I tell you people will try anything....there is a 147 unit trailers park that has been there since the 1950's and the zoning for future use was cut quite a bit.  The owners were there hoping that if something destroyed the park they could put 147 houses there instead...didn't work.

Got several answers from questions last week.  Thanks so much I believe that Forkhoe is in SC and most of you agree that Native American Indians did not have a written language until the settlers came.  Interesting.....

We are now on countdown for sister Joyce's visit in August.  Dad, Lana and I are so lucky to have such wonderful people in our family.  But also got to say I am really looking forward to my trip to go leaf peeping in Sept!  Diana and I are going to join Judy, it will be so much fun.

Hurrah, we finally got our pool leak fixed and it is back in great working order.  I just love it, I am in and out of it when I am working outside.  Which I have done a lot of this week but the weeds seem to grow faster than I can pull them!

The Makers including Liz and family are off to camp (that is situated on the water) this week having a wonderful time I am sure!  They always take lots of pictures so I am sure I will have some to share with you this week.

Next Friday is a special day for us, Dad will be 92, please join me in wishing him a very happy birthday....You could send a card if you like the address is 1844 Washington Ave., Melbourne, Fl 32935 or and e-mail would be just fine  rpwillett@bellsouth.net.  He doesn't check his e-mail as often as he used to but he will get it...just put Happy Birthday in the subject line so he will know what it is about.  On the same day dear friends Carol & Gary Powers celebrate their anniversay.  Wishing you both the best!

Next week Endeavor should be returning home to KSC on the 27th.  This week the weather has been great so hopefully it will stay that way for landing.  Next launch is scheduled for the 18 of August at 4:25 a.m.

Bill finally decided to have his carotids artery taken care of....this is the mystery to the whole thing.  When they did that test at the VA a year ago, they couldn't get him to Tampa quick enough, now it seems they it isn't as bad as they thought so they don't need to see him.  He is scheduled for another test on the 3rd, we will see what that brings.

Please take good care of you and yours and have a great week.

Lots of Love
a (aa) ~g~
