July 18, 2009

Good Morning all, what a week this has been!  Hope all is going well with you and yours.  Did get some week spraying done this week, I swear some of the reason I get so many weeds are when the lawn person mows the grass always goes into my flower beds.

Dad seems to be doing fine, he has trouble with recent memory and he sleeps quite a bit but other than that he seems to be doing just great!  He always loves it when Judy comes to visit because he has always loved to disagree with her.  You can just see his eyes sparkling when he does it.  Now Judy on the other hand takes it very well but her eyes aren't sparkling!  Dad is quite quick to remind us that he is in his right mind and does not need to be Mothered!

Got a note from Jack who is one busy guy.  Their Church has a new building and he was head of the building committee, they had their first services last Sunday.  He is also busy as a grandfather, he is about to have number 7.   He tells me that Uncle Omar is still in rehab and seems to be improving.  Aunt Joyce is still on oxygen and is having a hard time.  Please keep them all in your prayers.

Want to tell you we had a wonderful trip back to NJ.  I guess I appreciate things more now than ever, the fields were so beautiful with crops of corn, tobacco, and I swear it looked like potatoes.  They were so well crept, they looked like a picture.   Lots of horses and cows along the way also.  We took my favorite route up 64 through the Shenandoah Valley, so much better than 95 and the big cities that you have to go through on it.

Ok, now I want to get you into the discussion that Judy and I had on the way to NJ.  We went by a place called Forkhoe, have you ever heard of it?  Is it and Indian name, or is it some kind of code from the civil war?  The other thing I want to asked is did the Indians have a written language? These things may sound stupid, but inquiring minds want to know.

I am so envious of three of my sisters, Joyce, Judy and Helen are all up in Northern Maine for their class reunion.  They are each just five years apart so their reunions just happen to come on the same week end.  It is a big time now in Northern Aroostook County it is potato blossom time and they have a big to do over it.  I am sure they are having a great time.  They all stopped to see Aunt Ruby yesterday and then they were of to visit the family cemeteries.   It is a habit we all formed long before Mom passed away.   Bless their hearts they even went to my Clyde's grave and put roses on it for me!  I was very touched.

One more picture of Charlie...

Well it has been a busy week, we left on Monday (Nancy's birthday) and headed for NJ.  Arrived there on Tuesday, Wednesday morning Judy and Lilly headed for Maine and her neighbor took me to the airport.  The weather in NJ was beautiful while I was there.  Sat out on the porch and it was 57 degree's, knew I would be back in the heat soon but it was so nice.   Had hoped that the launch would wait for me on Thursday but no it went without me on Wednesday.  I was home to see it go.  Landing will be the 27 or July.  Todd picked me up at the airport and what great timing.  I had just got my luggage and there he was.    Won't say anything about his driving because I have already said I am not a good rider but let me say this ....it was the quickest ride I have ever had from the airport

This week I want to wish a very happy birthday to my friend Lori.  Hope it is a great one.  Lori and Jan are  the great shoppers for Baxley, let me tell you if there is a deal somewhere on toilet paper for denture cleaner they will find it.  They are certainly a blessing to Baxley.  Yesterday was Baxley day and we have been so fortunate to have people help us help them.

Hope you all have a wonderful week, please take care of you and yours!

Lots of Love
