What a week this has been, hope all is well with you and yours! The weather here has been quite warm...now I didn't say hot but it sure is bordering on it. In between all the other stuff I have been working in the yard, planted some, weeded some and also did some pruning. The only trouble with Florida is we go from winter right in to summer...or that is my thinking.
Dad's leg continues to heal and it really looks like he won't have to have the surgery. His mood has not changed though, keep hoping for a pick me up any day now. Last Saturday we went to UNO's for a change. We had a nice meal and I think he enjoyed it.
Don't remember if I mentioned it but Palm Sunday our church had a visitor...sorry to say an unwanted visitor a snake. I was told it was a corn snake which is not harmful but most people aren't fond of snakes. It went to the 10:30 service so that is another reason to go early to church.
On Monday I met Karen for lunch and again we solved the worlds problems (if they would only listen to us) I tell you this birthday thing this year is going on and on...she bought lunch for my birthday!
Monday evening I had my Local Planning Agency meeting. Some things I just have to laugh about one of the items was an applicant has 6 months for a site plan. Not to go into it in detail but they have found in the past that 99 % are finished in two years. So what they were asking us was to amend the site plan to make it two years instead of six months taking out the cost for them to reapply for it. Sounds clear to me, doesn't it you....well we had some people on the board that was wanting to extend it even more for that one percent. I sometimes think people love to hear themselves talk.
Tuesday morning we had an early murder on the main road coming out to the Center. I had heard all the sirens and thought that there was an accident. But soon learned that the guy had shot his buddy, there was another friend there and he tried to get him to help him bury him but he would have nothing to do with it. He left and went home his family called the police and when they arrived they found him trying to bury his friend in the back yard. The other kicker was he had 19 registered bit bulls, they were all healthy but they had marks on them that showed the police that he fought the dogs. I tell you what will this world come to next?
At noon on Tuesday I met Bet and we attended the NASA Alumni Meeting in Cape Canaveral. The Kennedy Space Center Director spoke and part of the speech was that before the new capsule there will be 3,500 people laid off at the Center...not a happy thought.
Oh you should see the beautiful job that Bet did on my angel, I meant to take a picture of it to show you but have been a little busy but will try for next week. Great job Bet!!
Tuesday evening I attended the Federally Employed Women meeting in Cocoa. We had a speaker that was trying to help us save our 401 by telling how we could invest the money in a new business....It was hard to listen to because like many people there 401K has gone down the drain.
On Wednesday got an early call from Diana, Dan was in the emergency room with tightness in his chest and numbness in his arms and they were treating it like it was a heart attack. After several test they said he was not having a heart attack but had a bad infection in his system. He spent the night and went home on Thursday, still not feeling a 100%.
On Thursday Bill decided that he was not going to his Dr. appointment for his skin cancer. It really upset me he really needed to go so off to my room I went turned on the air and did some chanel surfing on the TV and finally took a nap. As soon as I opened my bed room door I could hear him calling me. He had passed out and fallen on the sidewalk. He said he had been there at least an hour! Believe me as fair as he is you could tell he was burn't. I could not get him up so I had to call Nancy's Steve to come over. He seems to non the worst for it a few skin marks on his knee but other that that he is fine.
Again on Friday morning I got a call from Diana, Dan was back in the emergency room and this time they knew it was a heart attack. Poor Diana sounded really scared and I told her I was on my way. I just got out of the car at the hospital when out the emergency room door they came with a man on a table and it was Dan. They airlifted him to Melboune Holmes Hospital and buy the time we got there (50 minutes tops) they had already done a catherzation, found the clot removed it and put in a stint. His color has returned and he is feeling a lot better! But the sad news it he can not return to work until the last of May. As most of you know he is working like a contractor and has no benifits. They were suppose to go to Utah on Monday to see his oncologist but that isn't going to happen now. So once again Diana will have to cancel the flights they have. Southwest has really been good to them and easy to work with, can't say the same about US Air
Diana will celebrate her big birthday on Sunday, won't tell you how old she is (she isn't happy about it) but I am sure it will be a little dimmer with all the things going on. Please join me in wishing her the very best of birthday's!
Today they will have the interment of Jeff's Mom in Lubec. Joyce is expecting quite a few people and has been cooking for an army I am told.
Helen is suppose to come sometime around the middle of May, as always we are looking forward to her visit.
Lana has been cooking meals for Dad to make sure he is getting something taste. Peter mowed his lawn and did a great job I am told. Yesterday should have made him feel a little better...Todd & Diana visited him, Stacey & Paul also stopped and then to top it all off he got to talked to Jacob on Skypes. Then to boot Lana made him a special strawberry short cake, so he should have had a great day yesterday!
Well I guess I have to get moving if I am to get any thing done this morning. Please take good care of yourself and let me hear from you!
Lots of Love
