February 7, 2009

Good morning all, hope that you have had a great week!  Really having been doing much this week...kinda of a free do nothing.   I know that we do not have it as cold as some of you have had it but it has been breezy and quite cool here.  By looking at my plants I would say I have lost most of them so it will be an expensive adventure to replace them when it gets warmer.

Lana & Shari are off to Phoenix next week and Lana had arranged for a friend of her's to come to change Dad's bandage on his leg.  But Dad decided that he could do it himself he has been watching Lana change it for awhile and from what Lana says he is doing a good job.  He went to the skin specialist this week and was told that he would have to come off his coumidin for a week before the skin replacement and a week after.  So now we have to wait and see if his heart Doctor says it can be done.

Dad is doing quite well getting around but we one of us to go with him when he goes to the Doctor.  For some reason he doesn't quite hear everything the Dr. says

He and I went to Applebea's for dinner last Saturday, want to take him back to Outback this week if he is up to it.

Got a note from Uncle Gib's wonderful daughter in law telling us that he is now in his own room and has his computer set up with his own phone number.  If you would like to reach him  wgw911@aol.com Phone number is:  (805) 526-6229.  You can call him directly now.

Pat & Dave are all excited they are about to go on a cruise and I believe they go the day that Sister Joyce arrives here for her stay with Dad.  We are all looking forward to her visit and we get a bonus, it seems that niece Liz and her family will be here the same week.  The 2nd week of her visit her son Rand and Malisa will be here.  Had hoped to get Liz and family into see the landing on the 26th but since the launch has been reschedule I guess they will miss that opportunity.

Bill has not been doing the best so we spent both Thursday & Friday at the VA.  The full results are not clear, we have several other Doctors to go to before we get the results.  But now he has a wheel chair and a temporary handicap parking sticker...  Please keep him in your prayers.

I guess the good Lord got even with me for complaining about how hot Bill keeps the house, on Thursday the furnace went out.  I had to really convince myself that 60 in the house wasn't bad, I can remember it being a whole lot colder in the house in Maine.  Friday the repair man came and we needed a new motor...so we are back in business.  By the way Bill stayed toasty he had his room shut off with the space heater going so his room was warm.

Well it took a lot to convince me to Skype and now I love it.  It is so great to actually see my family when I am talking to them, Dad even enjoys it.  But this week the push was on for me to join Face book after many pleas I did but still don't know why it was so important for me to join.  Got to say a lot of my family member belong to it but still have to find a good reason why I do.

Got some Birthday's this week...On the 11th niece Liz will celebrate, On the 12th nephew Robert and my Bill will have their day.  So it will be a celebration week hope that you all have a wonderful Birthday!

Well I hope that you  have had a great week and hope it was uneventful.  Please take good care of you!!

Lots of Love
