February 28, 2009

Good morning all I hope that you have had a wonderful week!  The weather here has been great, no complaints from me.  Except we did have freeze warnings a few days.  Can't wait for that to pass so I can get busy in my yard.  But even if it is nice the next two weeks I will be so busy doing other things that I won't have time to get to it.

Had a nice visit with Dad on Saturday and we ate at the Olive Garden.  The amazing thing was we found a parking place close and we only had to wait about 15 minutes.  His leg seems to be healing and Lana has high hopes that he won't have to have that skin graft on the 11th of March.

Sunday Joyce arrived and I picked her up in Sanford.  It is always great when one of my sisters arrive for a visit.  But I understand she got out of Maine just in time because they had about 18 inches of snow after she left.  Brother in Law Jeff says her car is buried and maybe by the time she gets home it will be cleared.   Knowing him I know that is not so, he will have it done in no time.  But just to give you an idea of how much snow they had....these pictures were taken at my sister Helen's house in Maine.  The first one is taken inside of her front window  The second shows just how high the snow is....

On Monday I had my Local Planning Agency meeting.  It was unusual because most of the items on the agenda pertained to Merritt Island.  (It is a county wide board)  The other unusual thing about it is I won all my battles except one!  So I can say it was a long meeting but I had a great feeling about it except the one I lost.  There is a large apartment complex across from the High School and they want to tear it down and build a box store there.  This has been before us before and I lost that time also.  I still think it is invasive into the residential area and dangerous because off all the cars it will generate...but like they say you win some and lose some.  Another amazing thing I found out is one of our Board members does not get the newspaper nor does he read the news on line.  It just seems that someone that is on a public board like that would be interested in what was going on in the community.

On Tuesday was my Dr. appointments and all went well, everything was perfect can't hardly believe it but the Dr. don't lie  On the same day Bill had a Dr. appointment in Viera and daughter Dawn took him.  She certainly was a life savor for me, she will never know just how much I appreciate her doing that.

When Bill got home his American Legion news letter was waiting for him.  Was he surprised to read that he had passed away!  He quickly called them and they were supposed to call him back with an explanation but hasn't as yet.

Liz & Rick and boys arrived and had a short visit with Dad before they headed off to their rental in Vero Beach.

This coming week is quite a busy week as far as Birthday's go...First my handsome Grandson Pat will turn 28 (can you believe it?) on the fourth.  Hope you have a wonderful birthday dear!  Then on the 5th Chris Adams will celebrate his birthday (21 I am sure) Wishing you both a very happy Birthday!!!

On Wednesday I went in to work at the Press Site, Bet worked on Tuesday.  Lots of calls but mostly about the new launch date.  Nothing was set while I was there but read in the paper the next morning that we would try for launch on the 12th.

Have been telling you about my friend Karen that is really into horses especially her horse Bo, well last Saturday she participated in a show and won two Grand Champion awards!  Isn't that great, I sure think so she hasn't been at it that long.

On Thursday, Bill and I took a ride down to the Base to get my new ID card.  The good news is one more trip down there in four years and I will not have to go again that time it will be permanent.  Afterwards we tried out a new restaurant that has opened here close to us and to my surprise it was very good.   It really isn't a new one but has a new owner you never know how that is going to work out.  But they have redone the inside it looks great and the food was great!

Joyce came up on Friday and we both got beautified at Nancy's (we had our hair done).  We had a late lunch which was good.  BUT we shouldn't have done that because we were invited to Nancy's for dinner and could hardly eat because we were 2 full!

Next week looks like it will be another busy one...our FEW Training is being held in Cocoa Beach.  Because of the lack of funds there will be a lot less people but we still have to be prepared to do our thing.

Liz and family leave today to return to NH, Rand & Meliasa arrived late last nite...

Well I have rambled on enough please have a great week and take good care of yourself.

Lots of Love
