January 3, 2009

WOW what a wonderful week this has been, the weather has been just great....especially no snow On Wednesday it was a little cool in the morning, steam was coming off the pool!  But other than that the weather has been great.

Picked oranges for Judy to take back to NJ, and found tree's in the back that I had forgotten about.  So many oranges and most of them will go to waste.  Use to send the up north to my sisters but the cost has become astronomical.   I used to get quite a kick out of Bill, he would say something is wrong with this picture...I bought the tree's, I fertilize them, then I pick them and send them up North  Dad said he would like a few of them...let me tell you if you live close to me and would like some please come out and get them...now about the only things that enjoy them are the squirrels and the racoon's.

What a treat on Saturday evening we all went out to dinner...even Lana and Shari.  It was great we had a great meal at the Outback it was quite a group and I really enjoyed it.

On Sunday Diana went down early and gave Cisco his bath and she and Judy came back to Merritt Island and we met for lunch at Chili's and shared that special treat!  Afterwards we went to the movies to see Benjamin Button with Brad Pitt.  If you have not heard of it, it is about a man that is born at 80 or so years old and grows younger .  It really wasn't up my alley but others really enjoyed it.  Of course Brad Pit is never hard to look at.  Have seen the Bucket List which I thought was quite good as well as the Freedom Writer's...both great movies.

On Monday sister Judy, Greg and Lily headed back to NJ.  I just so hated to see them go, not just for Dad's sake but for my own.  She is one of the most wonderful people in the world and I am so proud to have her as my sister!  They had a nice relaxing trip, stopped in Savannah, went on to Ft. Sumter even drove around Washington to see where the new President was going to be sworn in...

UPS delivered my laptop on Monday, cannot blame them for it not being here on time.  It was Best Buy, they sent it out regular shipping when it was supposed to be a special shipment.  I am really upset at them, you pay extra to have it delivered on time and they don't do it.  Yes  Best Buy have refunded my shipping charges, and a $10 gift certificate but the angriest they cause over this I think it should be more, what do you think?  If I don't hear from them by next week I am going to write to the CEO.

But on the good side of the laptop Shari came up on Tuesday and got it all set up so a slow person like me can use it fairly easily.  So on Wednesday Todd got his laptop!  Shari says my laptop is the best!  She sure would like to have one like it.

Well this week the pictures of the week are of my sister Helen's two fairly new granddaughters.

To the left is Kayln Mallory Miller, She lives in CA and is 8 months old.

And to the right this is Charlie Silva who is 18 months old and lives in TX.  Aren't they beautiful young ladies?  They both should be entered the Pretty Baby contest that Regis & Kelley are having this month bet they would win!

Tell you what this world is really in a turmoil was talking to Shari when she came to fix my laptop and she went to get some test and her insurance did not pay for the whole amount.  She asked if she could make payments and she was told cash before service...what is that?  How many people that really need that and they can't get it until they pay.   Right up front I think of my poor Nancy with no insurance...It scares me it really does.  People will die "no cash no service"!

So I hope you had a happy and uneventful New Year's.  Our's was certainly uneventful....Bill went to bed about 8 and I was in bed about 10.  So if anything exciting happened we missed it.

Had another picture that I wanted to include, it was taken at my niece's house in NH.  The people accoss the street from them had a huge tree and with all the ice, it split it right in two.  I know it is hard to see but thankful I live in Florida this time of year.

Here is another picture that I wanted to share with you....

Myself, Judy and Lana in the back and of course the star...Dad.

Well there really isn't much to say, I think I have rambled on about enough.  It has been suggested that I find a new format for Just Chatting and I am looking into it.  But don't count on it  Hope all is fine with you and yours and again I want to wish you the best of the New Year.

Lots of Love
