Good morning all hope that you have survived everything from Thanksgiving. The weather here has been beautiful but cool. Did some work out in the yard but should have done more. Really if you dress right it is wonderful outside. It has been a very quiet week, which is really a blessing because next week I have at least three evenings I am out. So to fill the page I will just be rambling again
Want to start right off by wishing brother-in-law Paul a very happy birthday, hope it is the best one ever!
Dad and I had a nice visit on Saturday. His leg has still not healed up as yet and on Monday he went to a skin specialist who said that it was not healing because the skin was hard around it. He prescribed another medicine and we are hoping this will do the trick. For dinner we went to the Olive Garden.
In Dad's back yard he has several shrubs in his back yard that need to be cut, they almost look like tree's. William would cut them but I don't see him...so I am starting to knaw away on them each week.
Got news this week that my Uncle Gib in CA fell and is in the hospital. His daughter in law says he is just not able to live by himself anymore, which is sad. Dad and I will try to call him today. Fred continues to improve but he is still in the Boston area for recovery. Keeps his family on the run but they are just grateful that he is improving.
Went to Church about 5:30 am on Sunday and fixed the drinks came home took a shower and went to work for landing at 7:30. I knew in my heart that it was not going to land here, the wind was quite strong. This time I worked at the Pass and Id center, different from the Press site. This is where the Press come and pick up their badges to get on the center. We had a total of five people who came in, which tells you they knew we weren't going to land either. Finally at 12 they had waved off both landings. Very disappointing, but we want them to be safe. But can you believe they wanted me to come to the Press site and stay until after the press conference after landing....I told them no, felt like saying you don't pay me enough money for me to do 12 hours out here on Sunday but of course I didn't. I understand the next launch will be an all nighter...the launch is scheduled for 7 am, that means we will have to be out there four hours before....
Things are really looking up for our Baxley Angels, things were going quite slow and we were concerned that maybe they all wouldn't be chosen, but God always comes through of the 38 that we have we are down to one and I have the confidence that we will find someone for that person. We know that times are particularly tough this year but we wanted to make sure that they all got equal, it has made it harder for us but it will be great for those people at Baxley that this gift will be the only one they get.
On Monday, I met with Karen for lunch at the Amish restaurant. Nice little place in Cocoa, think I mentioned it before you pick what you want like a sandwich and you get a side dish with that and it is usually ice cream...just what most of us need, but it is good though.
The pole caddy that I have in my back shower has been a blessing, it must be about 5 or 6 years old. Bill says I have no idea of time and that is true it could be 10 years old. It is medal and it is rusting so I went to Bed, Bath and beyond and order a new bronze one. So now my chore is to put it together...I sat here and fooled with it but somehow I have not gotten it quite right as yet. So hopefully I will get it figure out and get it up before long.
Sister Helen is still having a lot of pain in her knee's and will not be able to come in December. So Sister Judy is going to come. She is going to drive down with her dog Lily and Greg are going to fly down. Krista (my granddaughter) is going to fly up and ride down with her. Then Greg will ride back with her. Really looking forward to their visit, I know she will brighten up the place.
Bill dodge is four years old and he has had trouble with the radio since he got it. Last week he decided it had to be fixed. Now here is someone that has 14,000 miles on the vehicle, never goes anywhere and he decides he has to have the radio fixed. He went to the dodge place and of course it was out of warranty and it would cost $350. to get a new one. He read in the paper, that Circuit City will put a new one in for $200. So down he went and got the new radio put in...it was slightly more than $200...it was $286. but now he has a radio
Took my car in for it regular check up on Thursday and all was fine except one thing with my right front wheel...don't asked me what it was I still don't understand it. Anyway they wanted to do it on Thursday afternoon and I had a bunch of running around to do so I made the appointment for yesterday early...it would be ready by 12! I know you see what is coming here because it wasn't ready and I had an appointment at one. So I got Bill to take me to the appointment and called for them afterwards to pick me up. When I called I got the answering machine and I left my message where to pick me up....45 minutes later no one was there to get me. I called again this time I told them I was waiting to be picked up...anyway to make a long story short...One of the gals took me over there but believe me it was quite apparent to everyone that I was upset!!! Like I told my sister I don't mind waiting when you know you have to wait but when they ignore you that really upsets me!
Well Folks I have rambled on enough I hope that you have a wonderful week, please take good care of you and let me hear from you.
Thanks for being you
Lots of Love
