December 13, 2008

Good Morning all what a week this has been for me, hope yours was better.  The weather here as kind of been a mix of sorts, can't complain about it though.  Some rain, lots of sunshine and lots of wind. Friend Letty tells me they are in for lots of snow this weekend how about you is it snowing where you are?

On my visit to Dad's last Saturday we were able to call Uncle Gib in CA.  He sounded weak but loves the food where he is so he is certainly on his way to recovery.  Uncle Gib is Dad only living brother or immediate family member who is left.  We all called him Uncle Gib but when he went to CA many years ago he became William, which is his given name.  William was also my Grandfathers name...just thought I would fill you in on some family history.

Dad and I had a nice dinner at the Outback, got to decided where we will dine tonight.

Was so thankful at Church on Sunday someone volunteer to take the last "angel" from Baxley felt like a weight had been lifted from my shoulders.  But it not over until it is over as they say and soon another name was added, plus we found that  some people that said they would take and angel only gave a certain amount not the amount we asked for.  That Sandra is a blessing she never gives us and today I can say for certain that all will have the same amount of gift card if that is what they asked for, mostly because of my Jewish Friend Sandra.

On Monday evening I attended the County Planning & Zoning meeting.  One item was really sad....this gentleman was very Spanish and it was hard to understand him.  He was happy with himself he had bought 1 1/2 acres of land in Mims.  The people who sold it to him wanted 10,000 but he stuck to his guns and got it for 8.  Now all he wanted to do was rezone it so he could put his trailer on it.  The property was zoned agriculture (which calls for 2 1/2 acres) and someone back in 88 cut up the properties and left this one piece.   The Board was inclined to send him back to the buyer and for him to get his money back they weren't willing to give in on this one...the sad thing about it while this whole discussion was going on I don't think he understood a thing that was being said.  This went on for some time and finally a motion to table it so he could go back to the seller and make arrangements for them to take it back. (know it doesn't make sense but that was what the wanted him to do) and it was defeated.  So finally after 45 minutes a motion was made to give it to him and it passed.  I still would bet on a Bible the man did not know what had taken place there and just how close he came to losing his $8,000.

On Tuesday, I started feeling like I was coming down with something. But went to the FEW Christmas party anyway.  Usually really enjoy it but this year a lot of people were missing and it just didn't have the joy it usually does.  Not even the Chinese auction bought about any controversy.  But as always some of the Mom's of the women are members are there and I am always glad to see them, really hate to see them failing but they still are going.  They furnish all the food but many bring something different to share.  Joyce had given me this recipe for pistachio salad not sure if that is what it is called but it is quite good if you want to try it.

1 pk of pistachio instant pudding
1 20 oz can of crushed pineapple
1 cup of small curb cottage cheese
1  8 oz cool whip.

Mix it together and let it set in the frig for two hours and it is ready to go.   I added walnuts and cherries to mine, still think there must be a fruit that could be added that would give it some bite and suggestions?

That dog of mine is such a mess, she will not chew on anything hard instead she will bury it.  Well on Thanksgiving Day Nancy bought her dog Jodi over and I gave him a bone.  He chewed all but about 6 inches of it, Now Cocoa is driving me crazy she keeps hiding it and digging it up and moving it.  This has been going on for a couple weeks  now, if she doesn't have time to bury it, she brings it in the house and hides it until she goes outside.  I keep saying I am going to throw it out so it will be over but Dad says it is a challenge for her and it gives her something to do.  But it is driving me crazy...she hides it in the closet, under the pillows on the couch where ever!

Well I got my new shower caddy up but something is missing, I have one part left over and it leans....Diana says for me not to worry about it we will handle that when the strong ones come for Christmas.  It just might be the one that discovered that I had said the other one was medal instead of metal

By Wednesday I was really sick, always worry about me getting pneumonia since I get it so easy but had the antibiotics from last time so I took them but Thursday I knew I was dying and called the Dr.  I went yesterday and I have bronchitis, so hopefully no pneumonia this time.  I feel a little better but for a time there I thought I was dying every felt that way?

Yesterday I took my granddaughter to the airport, she flew to NJ.  One of the things that made the flight memorable for her was Tim Tebow and the other two people in line to get the Heisman Trophy was on board.  She also proclaimed he was hot, if you know what that means.  We use to say they were cute, now they are hot.  On Monday she, Judy and Lilly will head south for her visit with Dad.  Really hope it is an uneventful trip.

Great news the shuttle arrived back home at KSC yesterday safely. So now for the picture of the week...

Well Folks I have rambled on enough I hope that you have a wonderful week, please take good care of you and let me hear about what is going on in your life.

Lots of Love
