November 15, 2008

Good morning all hope you have had a great week!  Hate to keep bragging about the weather here but it has been perfect.  Wish I had more time to work in the yard but believe me I have been busy.  Not a lot to say this week so here goes the rambling

As I told you last week was our church fair, we had a great turn out but believe me we had lots of stuff!!  I am proud to say that all my plants sold quickly which made me think I need to have more of them for next year.  The last total is that we took in about $4,000 for the sharing center.  Isn't that great!  I tell you those wonderful people that make it happen really work their butts of.  I believe that most of them were at the church on and off all week and then put in a full day on Saturday and of course they have to clean up.  I wish I could help more with it but I am just not able.  But I did my hours at the plant section and talked a lot of people into plants that they wouldn't have bought  There were plants left over and as I did last year (I am not the only one that does this) I will bring them home, repot them and fertilize they will be great for next year.

Saturday afternoon I was off to Dad's and we went to Outback for dinner.  I had the Alice Spring chicken and it was great!  Highly recommend it I know it isn't steak but you can get out good stuff at a steak place.  Dad had the 9 oz steak and really enjoyed it.  So today I will have to figure another place that we can try.

Since we had the fair on Saturday, there was only one service at 9:30 on Sunday.  I went over about 7 and got the drinks ready.  At about 8:30 the electric went off and didn't come back on until about 10.  There is no way I could go to church because I couldn't open the garage door.  About 6 I was deciding what to fix for dinner and guess what...yep the electric went off again and didn't come back on until about 8.  Never really found out what the problem was but you know it is very boring without electric.

On Monday, I did two of my non-paying jobs as my Dad says...worked at the NASA press site in the morning and in the afternoon I was off to Viera  to do the Planning & Zoning Meeting.

Got to tell you about one call that I got at the press site.  Everyone complains when the call a number and get an answering machine don't they?  Well this lady called, I answered the phone and she apologized all over herself she thought she would get a recording she just wanted to know about the launch on Thursday and she was sorry she bothered me and hung up before I could tell her launch was Friday  You cannot believe some of the strange calls we get..we have a couple people that call every launch they are psychic and tell us what is going to go wrong.  Of course our two men that call each launch Scott & James drive us crazy sometimes but it is interesting work.

The blue angels were here last weekend at KSC what a crowd they had in fact they had to turn people away.  I certainly did have to go out there this is what it looked like from here

I think this was taken going over our house.....

Got a note that Fred had to be taken back to Boston because he has developed an infection...My friends brother had his surgery for breast cancer and they got it all they think, now he will have to have chemo for the next six months....Stacey lump according to the Dr. is a fibroid cyst.  So she will be going every six months to have that checked...thanks so much for your prayers and please keep them coming for these people and the others on the list.

Was at the grocery store the other day and walked by the frozen turkeys...I generally get one about 24-26 pounds.  I seen a 28 lb one and it was $45!  Good Lord talk about a price increase I may have to think about getting a smaller turkey.  I also seen yesterday on TV  that Thanksgiving dinner for 10 this year would cost $45. $2.00 more than last year must not be thinking of the turkey I saw

Sister Judy is off to St. Louis this week along with husband Greg, daughter Jess & Casey and Kyle.  Greg cousin is getting married, bet it is colder there than it is in NJ.

Last night's launch was the last scheduled night launch and it was fantastic!  Wish you all could have seen it, it certainly was something to behold!

Please take good care of you and keep in touch...

Lots of Love
