October 25, 2008

Wow what a beautiful week, not to cold, hardly any rain (although it was touch and go yesterday with the rain) hope you found it that way also.  Got some trimming done in the yard and filled my trash can.  Was really surprised it took little effort to get it out to the road.  So I got that taken care of will just have to wait and see what I will do when I have a lot of yard trash.

Dad and I went to Applebea's for dinner last Saturday so he could have his steak.  I decided to get steak also.  Don't know what it is with me and Applebea's when it comes to bake potatoes but they always seem to mess it up for some reason.  My potato was not done (as far as that goes neither was Dad's) so I had to send it back.  Dad stuck with his but I want mine done.

Many of you know in the early 40's my Dad was in an explosion and was badly burned.  He was very lucky he almost lost one of his legs.  Well now that leg has developed a sore on it and it has been that way for many years.  He has been to many different kinds of Doctors in hopes to get it healed up but so far no luck.  Lana insisted that he go to his new general practitioner to see what he had to say about it.  Dad likes him very much by the way!  He sent Dad to a podiatrist to see if they had the answer.  From what I am told she really dig into his leg telling him he had a pocket in there that crept building up and that is the reason it would not heal.  He has his own special angel that comes to his house twice a day and changes his bandages.  I told him he was lucky that Lana is blessed with that nursing talent.  When I was born God decided not to give me that talent, in fact like I told Lana I was lucky he gave me the ability to put a band aid on one of the kids wounds.

On Monday evening I had my Brevard County Local Planning agency meeting.  Things went fairly well, the chairman was unable to attend so I conducted the meeting.  Which I have got to say I am pleased with the meeting didn't go on for hours like it would have if he would have been there.

When I went to the meeting I have got to tell you that I could not get over how many people that were standing in line to vote.  Don't get me wrong I think it is great that so many people are making and effort to vote but what purpose does it serve if they have to wait in line just as long as they would on election day?   Just wondered

Fred is doing better but is still very weak, please keep him in your prayers.

Gas in NJ is still going down and much to my surprise when I went to get gas at BJ's last Saturday is was $2.74.  Diana told me she filled up her truck for $30 which is the first time in a long time that she was able to do that.   I am not sure how much it is today, will find out when I go to Melbourne.

This week the only birthday that I have is Grandson Todd, I can't hardly believe he will be 19 on Tuesday.  Maybe I will just pretend he is oh let say 13  Somehow I don't think he will go for that.  Please join me in wishing him a very happy birthday!!!

Bet continues to attend her baking classes and let me tell you she has given us some wonderful stuff!  One was cupcakes with (chocolate) pudding inside and decorated with chocolate frosting...I am glad she only gave me two because Bill didn't even have a chance to get to them!!!

As usual I have been busy eating this week, met old friends from NASA for dinner on Tuesday evening and really enjoyed it as always.  On Wednesday I met Karen & Mike for lunch where we went over the admendments.  Some of them are really confusing and Karen sure has the knowledge that I trust to help define them for me.  Great lunch by the way.

Yesterday was Baxley Manor day, the cupboard was completely bare when we got there.  I imagine that will continue to happen more often than not.  We took the angel forms in order for them to put their wish list on it.  Got to say that more often than not they are asking for gift certificate.  As usual I am always concerned that everyone gets a gift.

Nephew William has been going over every week and mowing Dad's yard.  Plus he does edging and the blowing.  That sure takes a worry off our shoulders that Dad don't have to do that.

I truly feel bad for our neighbors across the street.  They moved down here from RI and bought that house for over $400.000 dollars about five years ago.  Now they have been trying for the last year to sell their house and of course they can't get what they paid for it.  They now have it on the market for a little over $300,000 and can't sell it.   They are not very friendly so I really don't know the whole story but I know it has sold but they are selling all their furniture and have the garage filled with boxes.  If they leave it unsold and we get a lot of rain again no one will buy it and it will just sit there...sad really sad.

Many of you may have seen this many have not but love it...

Live your life in such a way that
when your feet hit the floor in the morning,
Satan shudders & says...
'Oh shit...their awake!!'

Well I guess I have rambled on enough I am sure I missed something that I could have passed on but that is ok if I remember I will tell you next week.

Please take good care of you and keep in touch...

Lots of Love
