October 18, 2008

Good morning all hope that this has been an uneventful week for you.  Just got to say that it has for me for the most part.  Did get to get out in the yard and get some work done.  It is funny if the plants would grow as well as the weeds I would have it made.

This week Dad and I went to Olive Garden for dinner.  They have a special all you can eat pasta bowels and I had the tomato basil it was delicious wish I knew how to make it.  Of course I only had one bowl and got three meals out of it.  Dad enjoyed his meal, and said so after ward but did comment it wasn't steak so tonight it will be steak!

Since Monday was a holiday Diana was off work.  She and Krista and I had lunch at Chili's.  Had thought I wouldn't have that wonderful desert until Helen came but I was wrong.  The three of us shared the one with the chocolate chips.  We decided that it wasn't as good as the all chocolate!   Since Krista has about three bites of it and she is very conscious of her weight I am sure she ran five miles to get rid of any weight that she gained from it.  Me I came home and took a nap    That is why she is thin and I am over weight I guess.

On Tuesday I started off with blood work and went right from there to Publix where I got my flu shot.  Gosh, that is the place to get it or something like a grocery store.  There was no waiting I was in and out.  Did you have your flu shot yet?  If you haven't you better get it, that is something that I have learned the hard way.

I am so pleased that Dave and Pat are going to cook Thanksgiving dinner for us.  The did it last year and it left me a little concerned that I was not needed any more for this kind of thing but I certainly was a whole lot more relaxed and rested afterwards than I would have been if I had done it all.  Oh I will still get to make the pies and bread but that will be over a several day period so it will be great.

One of my brother-in-laws has had quite a week, Fred was treated for a heart attack and they found and infection in the value in his heart that had been replace earlier.  He had surgery and was hanging on but it doesn't look good for him.  Please keep him on your prayer list.

You know I don't know how I get into messes like I am in now but I certainly manage to do it!  This time I didn't volunteer for it somehow I ended on the committee to provide the venders for our (Federally Employed Women) training seminar that we have in the spring.  That in itself is not bad but this year they want to charge the vendors more than ever and they want us to get such people as Home Depot, Hospitals and the Chamber of Commerce.  I have openly said this is not the year to charge more money oh well it is just a mess I will figure out how to work with it or quit I guess but it really has me concerned.

Got this picture of nephew Kyle and Erica picking apples love it sure am sorry I missed the leaves this year.

Sister-in-law Sue tells me that she has seen the price of gas as low as $2.75 in NJ.  Can't say it is that low here still in the 3 dollar range but it is going down.  Bill kept saying it would because of the election never noticed it before but am glad for it.

Want to wish dear friend Shirley a very happy Birthday today...what are you 21 today?  Times fly by but old friends stay the same.  Then we have Alex who will turn the big 16 on the 23rd hope it is one of the best ones yet!!!

Wanted so badly to identify those people in the picture that I sent you but it would not let me paste it so I am going to try again.

Back row: Helen side of the family Garret, Dean, Jeri, Zoe and Wesley  Front row Judy's son-in-law Casey and daughter Jess. Handsome group aren't they!

Speaking of family....two of my sisters and their husbands are on the road this week-end.  Joyce and Jeff are in for a weekend of football.  Friday evening they went to Jacob football game in lower Maine, I am sure there is no doubt he is a football star he is 7 years old.  Then off to NH to watch Ian and Alex play their games.  What a fun weekend that will be.   Then Judy is off to the New York State Sheep & Woolfestival where she will  to meet up with her children (Greg is dog sitting) sounds like a fun time

On Thursday evening I had my North Merritt Island Planning & Zoning meeting which turned out to be very interesting.  Can you believe we had someone that wanted to be zoned for 30 houses on 30 acres?  With all the water that we have had and the damage that it has done I still can't believe it.  For the first time in a long time the guy was willing to downsize what he was asking for....but he still didn't get it!

Next  Friday will be Baxley Manor day I am so pleased that we are still able to help those people.  We will be taking their Christmas Angels this time for the Christmas list.

Can't believe it Bet is taking a baking class!  I have got to say that she is one of the best cooks if not the best I know.  Yesterday she surprised me with some of her bake goods, I hardly had put the plate down and Bill was sampling it.  Great Stuff Bet!

Well I guess I have rambled on enough I am sure I missed something that I could have passed on but that is ok if I remember I will tell you next week.

Please take good care of you and keep in touch...

Lots of Love
