What a week this has been lots of rain and we certainly don’t need any more of it. The ditches are full and yards are starting to hold water again. The rivers are way up, so for once we are asking nicely for no more rain!
Dad and I tried UNO’s for the first time in a long time. But the service was slow and Dad ordered the fisherman platter and he was not to happy with the meal that he got! So I guess it will be a while before we try them again. Don’t know where we will go tonight but I am sure it will be fine.
His plumeria has sprouted new leaves and he is happy about that. There is this special spray fungi zed that needs to be put on the leaves Bet was told about it from Rockledge Gardens last year. She told me about it and I got the stuff but thought that I would try the soapy water to see if that would work. Not only didn’t it work on the Plumeria it didn’t work on the roses. So I am going to mix some up to take to Dad so we can take care of those leaves.
Does anyone have Vista besides me? The one thing I can not find out how to do is inserting. You know where you can type over what is already there, I just can’t find out how to do it.
The week started off busy but slowed right down to a halt after Tuesday so if I fill this letter up I will be amazed. So there will be a lot of rambling.
First of all I didn’t identify my sisters picture last week I spoke about her but didn’t say who the picture was. It was my middle sister Joyce who is always busy now and before she retired.
On Monday night I had my Brevard County Planning & Zoning meeting. Not a lot of items on the agenda not to build houses anyway but always something to do with business. There were several marinas this week one was an oversight on zoning it has been there for years but the other one also has been there for quite some time but the wanted carte blanch to redo it. It was tabled until next month. The Board had hoped that the Commissioners’ would agree for us to meet just once a month covering both zoning and land use. But when the Staff brought it up to them they could not agree on it so it was tabled until the next meeting. We (the board) use to get $30 for travel but that was cut out about a year ago and with the price of gas cutting it down to one meeting would certainly benefit all of us.
Tuesday afternoon I went and chatted with my Commissioner. We discussed things like water drainage, Target shooting and neon signs on North Courtenay. I felt when I left I may have wasted my time, got lots of promises…but we will have to wait and see if we get any action.
On Tuesday evening I worked at the Church on the directory. I am so glad I volunteered to do that I met some wonderful people. I see most of them in Church each Sunday but like my father I am not a mingler…I smile and say Hello but then I am out of there. So this gave me an opportunity to talk to them and hopefully remember their names J
Was so pleased to hear that Jess and Casey (sister Judy daughter) was in New Mexico and took the opportunity to meet with (sister Helen’ son) Dean and family. Picture attached
Dad & Mom always stressed to us how important family is and it is great to know it is continuing on passed the sisters.
Sister Helen had to get that awful shot in her knee this week and has two more to go. Her knee has really been bothering her and we all hope this will fix it.
The good news is Dan has found a temporary job, good pay but no benefits. The bad news is he hasn’t started as yet still waiting to hear from them I know it must be very hard on him, he has always had a job and has worked out at the Center for 35 years. So hopefully all will turn out well.
Sister Judy tuned me in to the fact if you miss one of your favorite shows on TV you can o on the computer and call up the network they are on and watch them. Maybe you knew that but thought I would pass it on in case you didn’t.
Birthday’s we have birthdays niecse Jess will celebrate on Sunday gosh it just seems like yesterday that she was a baby and I thought that her Mom was starving her J And then talk about yesterday Zoe will have her 12th birthday on the 14th. It won’t be long and the days will fly by and all of Dean’s children will be teenagers! Hope you both have the happiest of Birthday’s!
Yesterday I got to see Nancy when I got my hair done and she seemed in a fairly good mood. Last night I went to a jewelry party, hadn’t been to one of those in a long time.
Well I guess I have rambled on enough….hope this finds you all well and remember take good care of you!
Please take good care of you and keep in touch...
Lots of Love
