September 8, 2008

Gosh this week has flown by, lots of things to do and people to see.  Hope all was well with you!

Please keep Lana in your prayers as I mentioned last week she had lots of damage from water in her house from the storm.  FEMA came out and estimated the damage was about $3,000.  She got a contractor to come out and his estimate is closer to $30,000.  She will have to have all her bottom cabinets in the kitchen replaced as well as the cabinet in her bathroom.  All the walls will have to be removed it is awful.  Now she will have to convince FEMA to send someone else out to look again in hopes of getting and estimate closer to what the contractor said.  Judy and I stopped over there last Sunday and although she has cleaned and sanitized as much as she can you can still smell the mold.  She and Sheri are living there because they can't afford to go somewhere else...so she certainly needs our prayer if for nothing else but her health....I know she will kill me for writing this about it but it is the truth!

We are so lucky that we did not have water damage but believe me there are still people along the road to get here that has water sitting.  My concern about our water that we have is there is no culvert for the water to train of to.  Hoping I can find out why we have to have a culvert and the people on Crisafulli at the top of the hill does not.

What a treat, last Sunday Lana joined Judy, Dad and I when we went out to dinner.  We ate at a new place for us it was called Smoky Bones.  Don't think Dad was too impressed with it although I thought the food was good.

On Monday I attended my Planning & Zoning Meeting as well as the Local Planning Agency Meeting in Viera at 3 o' clock.  They (the County) is trying to combine both meeting in order to save us all a trip in the month.  It seemed to work out on Monday because some of our members were not in attendance who love to hear themselves talk.  Believe me if they had been there the meeting would have lasted a lot longer as it was we were out of there by 7:30.

On Tuesday morning I had my six month check up with my GP.  The good news is he says that the results from my test prove that I should live at least a few more years  The bad news is no matter how great I am I still have to come back in six months.  He told me he would miss me if I didn't

Then Tuesday afternoon Sheri, Lana and Judy came to work on my computer.  What a treat, Sheri saved just about everything from my old computer.  The thing is best is she save my mini minder!  I just love that thing it stays up on my screen all the time and I am reminded of everyone birthday's, anniversary or whatever!  If you don't have it I highly recommend it.  The sad news is I can't find my pictures that I took of Todd's graduation and the flood pictures.  Maybe there are there but I can't find them.   Judy worked on my laptop getting me set up for Skypes I think it is called.  It is were you can talk to someone and see them at the same time.  Dad is impressed with it, Bill was impressed with it and I am not sure how I feel about it.  Bill keeps this house so warm that I most time am in my underwear, now wouldn't that be cute!  So she is going to give me training on it tomorrow so we will see how I do  Of course my son Pat has it and he has seen me in my underwear

Bill had an ecco gram of his carotid arteries on Tuesday also.  I missed the Dr when he called back and said he had some blockage on his left side.  He has recommended that he have surgery at the Tampa VA but Bill has refused to go.  His general practitioner will recommend that the VA pay to have it done locally and we will have to wait and see if they approve it.  He is 100% disabled with the VA but this is not connected with his disability...so all we can do is wait and see.

Pat and David had a great trip to Williamsburg, VA and D.C. and took enough pictures that I don't have time to look at them all .  The did all the things in Washington that I believe there are to see.  That is great, no way I could do that now.

On Thursday Judy and I met for lunch at Friday's and then went on to get beautiful!  Nancy said things were quite slow now people are getting laid off and they can't afford to get their hair done.  She is now looking for a second job.  .

The Church is putting together a picture directory of all our members.  So I volunteered to help.  Reported to the church at 4 and they were not busy so John (the other worker) and I worked it out where I came back home until 6 and stayed until 7:30, worked out fine.  I also had my picture taken, which is quite a chore for me, wasn't real happy with the picture but like Helen says "who cares"

Want to wish Casey a very happy Birthday on Tuesday, Megan has a birthday as well on Wednesday a very happy Birthday to you both!!! Hope it is a great one.  Then on Thursday we wish Judy and Greg a very happy 37 anniversary...wow hope it is a great one!  Then on Friday Erica will celebrate her birthday, wishing you the very best Erica.  Gosh it is a busy week for birthday's.

Grandson Todd came out on yesterday and did some yard work for me.  It is amazing how fast he can do it and do a good job also.  Me it takes at least a week to do what he did yesterday in an hour and a half.

Also yesterday I took Bill to the VA in Orlando for his skin cancer.  The Dr. said that the lump he removed from his hand was cancerous but that they had gotten it all.  Busy week for Dr's also

Well soon Judy will be returning home and as Dad has said she has been a breath of fresh air to all of us.  Really going to miss her, wish I had her energy that is for sure.

Had really hoped that I could go up and go leaf peeping but with each day that goes by I feel that I must stay home this year.

Please take good care of you and keep in touch...

Lots of Love
