Good morning all how is everyone doing? I can assure you of this it will be a long time before we here in Brevard County will be hoping for rain (a month or so I would guess J)
Last Saturday Dad and I tried Olive Garden, wanted to try something different. Well I should have know that night that this was not going to be the best week for me. I stopped and let Dad out in front of the place and just as he closed the door I heard a honk and the car shook! It was already pouring outside but I quickly go out to assess the damage. The other lady got out of her car also and it didn't look like there was any damage so I said ok. Well after I parked…guess what I could see the dent that she made……..nothing I could do about it then.
Sunday morning I was up as normal at 5 to go to the church and make the drinks. Maybe I should explain something. The church handy man sets up the coffee for me because it is too hard for me to fill and carry those big pots. So the only thing I have to do with the coffee is plug it in! When I first walked into the kitchen I seen this new coffee pot in the box with a stickie on it saying Attention Aneta Ott. Nothing else…no remember I had been away for a week so really didn't understand what was going on. Made the other drinks and got them all set up when I notice that the coffee pot wasn't doing it poop poop like is usually does. I knew right then that the attention thing was really for Fred to make the coffee in. I guess it turned out all right but it took about two hours for it to finally make some kind of coffee.
On Monday evening I had my Local Planning agency meeting. I love to chair the meeting because I try to keep it moving right along but did not want to this time because I had some dental work done last week and was not speaking normally as yet but as I said before I should have know that the Chair would not show I and I had to conduct the meeting. But got to say no matter how funny I sounded we got out of there a lot quicker than we would have if the Chair had been there! (Got to brag about yourself once in a while) J
Also On Monday Nancy went down to cut her Grandfathers hair (he has so much of it) J The went to TGIF Friday’s looking for the perfect Ruben for Dad. She had been taking him to Bennigian’s but as you know they have closed. TGIF does not have Ruben’s so now we must find a place that does. She had a gift certificate at the mall and asked Dad if he minded going with her…no he said. He told me he sat there for an hour. He noticed all these women having their purse hanging from their left shoulder and wondered why. After a while he figured they must be left handed. J
On Tuesday I went to Publix (grocery) to pick up some medication a few items and I could not believe that there was so many people there! There are two Publix’s on Merritt Island and I think that everyone in Merritt Island was at them! After all it wasn't a hurricane that was coming it was a tropical depression and at that point all we had to be concerned about was wind and possible tornado’s.
When we got up on Wednesday morning we had limbs down all over the yard.

When I talk to Diana that night I enlisted Todd’s help for the next day to pick up all the debris. All the schools had been canceled as well as Kennedy Space Center. I just couldn't understand it, things didn't look that bad.
What a mess it was I had Diana who you all know works for the post office out in all that wind and rain and Nancy who was complaining because the shop was closed she needed to work! Like Bill says if I don't have something to worry about something will come along. J…
But when I got up on Thursday morning I could see what they were talking about. Although we were very lucky the water didn't come into the house, it came very close. We lost electric also that day and I realized that we were out of batteries so off to the store I went. I was smart enough not to take my car I took Bill’s SUV it set much higher off the road. Our road was high and dry but the road I used to exit was not…it scared me when I realized how deep it was but there was nothing I could do I had to keep going. I feel so bad for some of those people the water is in their houses and with every vehicle that goes by it causes waves which put more water in their house. I did not see any car’s on the road but lots of trucks and most of them were just rubber necking what a shame.

David I still have not heard from you, surely that cold doesn't still have you under the weather.
Diana and Krista got home last Saturday just before all the excitement started. Poor Diana went to work and what a way to start the week off…one of her postal customers had put something down around his mail box to prevent Vandalism and guess what …Diana had a flat tire. Dan had to come from work and take the tire to be fixed the post office had to furnish her a vehicle…what a way to start the week of.
This is the week for Birthday's, don't remember having so many in the same week. I hope I get them all straight those January’s musts have been very cold although don't think any of them are the same age J First we will start of with Helen’s son Dean he will celebrate on the 24th as well as my dear friend Karen Husband Mike. Then on the 28th David Garthe will celebrate, then on the 29th Garrett, Dean’s son will celebrates his 14th Birthday. A very happy birthday to you all. Then we have Gloria and Don celebrating their 36 anniversary on the 26th of August…a busy month the very best to you all!!!
Lana and Sheri are on their way home from their vacation but it certainly won't end a happy one. I understand from Dad that there is water in Lana’s house what a mess she is coming home to!
Well I guess I have yaked on enough…hope the pictures transfer well. The next thing we have to be concerned with is the mosquito’s. They are breading in the water as I type. There is no way to get rid of the water, the rivers are flooded and until they go down…we will have a mess.
Just remember no matter what else you do please remember take good care of you!
Lots of Love
