June 7, 2008

Good morning all hope all is well with you! It has been a busy two weeks, got a lot accomplished and thanks to my family we were ready for the big graduation day as well as the party.

Nephew Rand, Melissa and his son Jake arrived first and Dad and I had dinner with them at our favorite restaurant. Gosh it rained hard that day and Rand was concerned that is was going to be that way his hold visit. But he didn’t have to worry no rain after that.

Sisters Joyce, Judy and their husbands arrived on Wednesday along with Judy’s daughter Jess and husband Casey. The house started to fill up again it was wonderful to have them. Kyle and Erica arrived on Thursday.

On Thursday Joyce and Jeff went with Rand and family to Universal Studios. I was concerned about her walking she still has problems with her knee. But they rented a wheel chair and all went well. They drowned themselves in sun lotion and did not burn. They had a real long day but they had a wonderful time especially with the rides with Jake.

Judy hit the ground a running to help me, gosh every where I turned she was there before me. Wednesday before they arrived I had made bake spaghetti and had it in the refrigerator; don’t know what I was thinking when I made it I knew that Joyce and family would not be here but I made enough for 15. Since there were (Kyle had not arrived as yet) seven of us we hardly made a dent in it. But it went well as leftovers on Friday.

Friday was a busy day, I had several appointments so Judy took over in the kitchen making the potato salad….want to ask you now when you make your potato salad do you put in sweet relish or sweet cubes? My sisters had never heard of that and each time we make it they comment on my sweet cubes…oh well it isn’t important just wondered. Kyle got busy with the power washer and did a great job.

Todd had a whole lot of people there for his graduation. There were 19 of us in attendance. Got to say it was one of the best graduation services that I have ever attended. The longest part of the whole program was giving the diplomas to 340 students.

Saturday was a real busy day of course finalizing everything for the party. We had plenty of food and lots left over but I would rather have leftovers than run short. As an added attraction to the party we had the shuttle launch many of our guest had never seen one. It was a beautiful launch. Felt strange to be home and not at work. I am guessing but I think we had about 60 or so people here. Poor Lana worked 6 nights in a row so she could come. She looked exhausted. It was great having everyone but had some family missing and believe me we missed them!

We still don’t have our garage door and believe me the wild animals have taught us a lesson about garbage. One night the raccoon’s got into in the garbage and we solved that problem, but I never thought about the unopened chips on the table along with other items that were being stored in the garage but we were reminded the next night and a possum got in that. Thank heaven for brother in law Jeff he got that cleaned up. He even mentioned that he thought that they used the toilet in the garage for dipping. What a mess! Talking about garbage we sure had a lot of it after the party I bet the trash man was happy to come to our house. It was way to much for Bill to carry or me either so brother-in-law Greg took it all out. I tell you I can’t say enough good stuff about my sisters and their husbands & families they were just wonderful.

Got several birthday’s coming up this week! Starting out with Sister Joyce who will be 21 on the 10th (smile) then Jody Boyd will celebrate on the 11th. Want to wish you both the very best of Birthday’s. Missed Peter Paige’s birthday on the 2nd hope it was a great one.

Want to share a few of our photos with you….the reason for the gathering.

Well time is flying by and soon (25) I will be going to NJ to visit Judy for a week. I wish that you will have a wonderful week, Please remember take good care of you!

Lots of Love
