This week has flown by quickly, it seems so quiet here. Loved it when it was busy and full of laughter now it is just Bill and I and he doesn’t make much noise (smile).
Dad was in his glory with our company. When Judy was there she cleaned and then she left and Joyce came and she cleaned. She also moved furniture around so a lot was accomplished on their short visit. Last Saturday evening Joyce, Jeff and Dad and I had dinner at …..you guessed it Applebee’s. Dad will never make a decision on where and he likes it there so that is where we go. After dinner we went home to watch the Belmont. It was a big shock that the horse that had won the other two races came in last. I was just pleased that no one got hurt.
I guess you can say that this will be another rambling chat, didn’t do anything real exciting but it was a good week.
I am trying to keep my yard up (flower beds) because they look so nice and if I keep at it everyday it won’t be so much to do. I have this grass that is coming up in them I have sprayed them with round up and it doesn’t kill them. They almost look like onions when you pull them up. On Tuesday I had lunch with Karen and I had pulled one to take with me to see if she knew what it was and of course I went off with out it.
She gave me some suggestions of what to do and one of them was to take it to an expert. On Wednesday I had lunch with Bet and remembered to bring it with me. I found out that it was nut sage! Ever heard of it? Well it is a real pain and it takes a special solution to get rid of it and one spraying won’t do it I found out. The person told me that sometimes when we buy plants at Lowe’s, or even Home depot the soil is tainted and this is what results. If it would only grow in my lawn and leave my flower beds alone I would be happy.
Took my car in for it’s 60,000 mile check up….really hesitated about doing it, you know the car is running fine but then you think what is something happens when I am on the road so I gave in. The starting price for the check up was $520. But once I got home they called, it seems that the motor mount was gone, then another call that said my brakes were gone…tell you what that took the best part of $1,000 that you have ever seen. (smile)
Granddaughter Krista put several applications in for work and finally got hired at Longhorn. She says she likes it, it is very busy.
William came by Dad’s the other day and mowed his lawn. Dad can’t get over how quickly he does it.
As far as birthdays are concern my oldest granddaughter will be celebrating this week. I will not accept that she will be the age she will be so I will just say she will be 16 again in my mind! Hope you have a wonderful Birthday sweetheart! I love you!
This computer is driving me crazy, first it was so slow it wouldn’t even let me shut it down and now it is working half way right but it keeps signing on to AOL when ever it wants to. I am certainly blessed because Lana and Sheri are coming up tomorrow hopefully to fix it.
Well I had better get moving I have to be in to work at 8, Bet will be working also….so be on the look out hopefully the shuttle will be landing at 11:15am
Have a great week and Please remember take good care of you!
Lots of Love
