Good morning all hope this has been a great week for you. We finally got some rain, not as much as we need but we got some and we are thankful for it. It has been so hot and dry that I have to water my plants every other day. I am going north this week and have set up a plan (hopefully) that will get them watered. I plan to put them between my plants that are growing and set up the hose so all Bill will have to do is turn it on. But with him if we get the few sprinkles it has rained so I will have to call and make sure he does it.
On Saturday I had a nice visit with Dad. Gosh that Joyce and Jeff really moved the furniture around it looks great. I am a great furniture mover myself. My first husband use to say he didn't dare to go out at night because when he came home everything would be changed. (smile) Of course we went to our favorite restaurant Applebee and had a nice dinner.
On Sunday Lana and Sheri came over and Sheri worked on my computer. Don't know what she did but it is faster now than it was. She tells me I still have some problems but it will take a while to fix so she is going to come back. Something about DDL or DLL extensions that are missing. I have no idea what that is maybe you do. But after she left I revitalized I still had the problem with AOL coming on whenever it wanted to. But because I had mentioned it in Just Chatting my sweet nephew Mark sent me step by step directions on how to stop that! It was so clear that even I had no problems doing it. Thanks again Mark!
Hope you had a great Dad's Day. Bill heard from most of his children on his day but Dawn went way out of her way and bought him a lobster dinner. He was quite impressed with that!
On Monday evening I attended the Brevard County Local Planning Agency Meeting in Viera. As you know sometimes I get quite upset in some of these meetings. The County has been trying to bring Cameral Groves into compliance with the rest of the County for years and has not been able to do so. On Monday night it was another step in that direction. You talk about hillbillies this place is it, up until five years or so ago they didn't have electric, water or any of the amenities. It is slowly changing and this was about roads....when the Board of Realtor's spoke against what was planned our brilliant Chairman (thinking that they really didn't know the area) suggested that the Planning Director and himself meet with them and explain the area. Of course a dummie on the board thought that was a great idea and after meeting two hours on the same subject moved for us to table it until the Chairman and the Director could meet with the realtor's. Now this isn't going to change anything we will still have the same item on the agenda next time we meet....nothing is going to change .... Oh well I guess everyone can't be as smart as I am sometimes (smile)
Todd is writing all his Thank you notes and is doing a great job. But he is forgetting one important thing...he is thanking everyone for everything they have done for him but he doesn't mention the gift that he got from them for the graduation. Oh well don't know about you but it is nice to know I walk on water (smile).
Bill went to the VA on Tuesday and they cut off the growth that he had on his hand. We won't know until August the results.
On Wednesday, we had the new garage door installed! But not before I had to learn one more lesson about racoon's...they take the lids off of garbage can's! Wednesday morning I had the garbage all over the apron of the garage...what a mess! Thankfully the new one is up now! The new problem is programing my garage door opener in my car to the new code. Yesterday I went to the Cadillac place and talk to my service person and she told me how to do it. It was so hot yesterday afternoon that I didn't feel like fooling with it I will try it this morning.
On Thursday evening I met with that "Ole Gang of Mine" from my early NASA days. It is always great to see them and we all enjoy getting together.
I get such a kick out of Diana she is working out, like all of us when we do that she has found new mussels that she didn't know she had. But it seems every day I talk to her she has found a new exercise and new mussels. She should be in great shape if she keeps it up!
Poor Nancy is helping out a lady that cleans house for extra money. Which is fine but right now they are cleaning a huge house that hasn't been cleaned in years. They are having to use some pretty strong solutions. Nancy is allergic to some many things and some of those solutions are among them. She was so stuffed up when I saw her yesterday.
Yesterday was Baxley Manor Day and all went well, thank goodness we are staying ahead of their needs. Lori and Jan are great shoppers, they watch for all the bargains and save us a lot of money!
Oh yes I wanted to asked you do you get any symbols in your just chatting when I send them to you? I have checked with all my sisters and they don't but just in case you do you can also check out my blog which has the same thing on it at Mom's Just Chatting. Pat posts it for me each week, don't know why Dad is getting that do you?
Well I guess I better get moving I have a bunch of stuff I plan to do this morning (planning and doing are sometimes not the same). You will not be hearing from me next week since I will be on vacation at sister Judy's in NJ. Hope you have a wonderful two weeks and remember take good care of you!
Lots of Love
