Hi everyone, I hope that all went well with you this week. I really can’t say that I have done anything really exciting but will ramble on as usual just to keep you up with what is going on here.
Dad and I are now all set with our waitress. It is great having someone that is right on the ball of what you want and we get great service. Dad and I have discussed the tip for her did you know that they have to share their tips with the hostess, the bar etc. So by the time you give them $5. Tip most of it is gone to people that are not serving you. So I have decided to hand her the tip, hopefully she will get to keep most of it that way. Did you know they had to do that? I wouldn’t have if Stacey had not been a waitress while she was going to school. Doesn’t seem fair, pretty soon they will have to tip the cook I guess. But we don’t have to worry about that this week today is the start of the Triple Crown of Horse Racing. Dad always has to watch that, no he doesn’t know the horse, and no he doesn’t bet he just likes to watch the Triple crown today is the Kentucky Derby the next race is on the 17th of this month.
Well we have had a little bit of excitement here at the house this week. Bill hired someone to clear out the mess that is encroaching our house from the hedge row that we left between the house and our next door neighbors. The palmettos are really coming over onto our lawn. Anyway it took two days but it is all cleared. Right now the debris is lining the front of our property waiting to be picked up by the trash service. Wonder how long it will be there?
The other thing that we had done this week is have our windows calked. We live so close to the space center that ever time they have a launch our windows rattle. So they were all loose. The good thing about that is when he calked the windows, he washed them! For the most part he did a good job but one or two I will have to do over.
Another tid bit about the Post office that I have learned and it may be happening where you live. Several of the carriers have retired and the Post Office does not want to hire new people so they have others that have routes of their own picking up part of the retired carrier’s route. More work for the carrier but not more money. I swear all the companies in this country are either out sourcing to another country or with contractors. I got a joke the other day which seems to be so true is the only business today that is local is a garage sale. The thing with Diana is that she will now have to work on her day off but the substitute that she had will be out of a job because of it. Sad!
I have been trying to get some work done in the yard everyday. Really need to put weed killer down in some places but the wind has been really blowing everyday and I am concerned I will get it on something else.
I have already been contacted about working the next launch. Don’t know if I mentioned it or not but the next launch is the day of Todd’s graduation party. Yep that is right May 31’s at 5:01 pm. The good news is all the family will be able to watch it from the end of my drive way and see it just about as good as they could see it anywhere. The sad news is I won’t be able to work it. But the money is the say either way (smile)
Things are starting to fall into place for the big graduation. So far the Maker’s, The Marshall’s, the Forbes have their trip here all set. I am so excited about it; to have them all here will be great. The sad thing about it is it will most likely be the last time they will all be here.
Lisa and Charlie are now back in TX with Roy. I bet he was some excited to have them back! On the other hand Helen is having Charlie withdrawals (smile)
As I have mentioned before Diana has worked her butt off all year making sure that this will be a successful Grad night for Todd’s class. Now I know it won’t be a surprise to many of you that have children or remember then but Todd is not too happy that his Mom & Dad will be there. She has done it for both Krista and Stacey and they told Todd they didn’t see her the whole evening she was too busy. I suggested to her if he wasn’t pleased that they were going to be there just how happy he would be to have Granny Ott, Aunt Joyce and Aunt Judy there he would really be watched then (smile)
Well two of my sisters are on the road this weekend. Sister Joyce and Jeff are off to the Consecration of the new Episcopal Bishop of Maine, she now serves on the Diocese Council for the State. Sister Judy is off to Baltimore to see just what the whole business is about that Jess and Casey is in, should be an interesting weekend for both of them.
Got my new printer yesterday and I really didn’t get the one that I was going to get but it will serve my needs. It is an all in one but with no fax. I really don’t need a fax, at least I don’t right now (smile) I have a lot of printing coming up and I want to use my old one until it dies, it has a new ink cartridge in it.
Hope all is well with you and that you have a wonderful week, Please remember take good care of you!
Lots of Love
