April 19, 2008

What a week this has been, sun shining but quite cool for Florida. Last Saturday it was 90 degree’s and by Tuesday it was in the 50’s. Lots of wind really is drying everything out. Did some work in the yard but couldn’t get much done because of the wind. Todd came over on Sunday and did some trimming on my bushes for me, missed a couple scrubs (my fault) but he did a great job.

On Saturday Dad and I went to our normal eating place for dinner. While we were there we seen our “waitress”. Don’t really understand her hours but she told us she would be there this week, am hoping so she gives such great service.

When I went to leave the house to go fix the drinks at Church on Sunday water was pouring out of the garage. Woke Bill up to tell him and he wanted me to go shut the water off. It is around the house in the dark, no way was I going to do that. Not sure what happened but I have no water in my back yard to water my plants. Hopefully I can get Todd over here to fix the pipe so I can have the water back on. Since Bill had his cataract removed on Tuesday he isn’t suppose to be doing anything like that. By the way the surgery went well and he is doing fine.

Diana finally went for a complete physical this week and she is fit as a fiddle! She still has some heart test that she is going to do but so far all is fine! Really am pleased that she went as you know heart disease runs in the family and I was told that they both should be ok until they had the change but we all know that wasn’t quite so since Nancy had a stroke at a much younger age.

On Tuesday evening I met with my FEW friends for cards. I want to tell you it really surprised me I usually am the first one out and get to come home early but this time I was in the final round. Still lost my .75c but it is great fun.

Want to wish a very special Birthday to daughter Dawn; she is hitting the big – today. Gosh, time flies it seems like it was just yesterday she was 21 J Hope you have the best of Birthday’s! The best of good wishes also go to Jeff Mom whose birthday is Sunday.

Got a funny to share, I know at 80 you should have stopped saying how great a cook you Mother was, but Bill hasn’t. I love to have stuff peppers every once in awhile and he is always telling me that his Mothers was the best! How did she make them I asked and he said she stuffed the pepper with mashed potatoes. Can you believe that? I went on line and check every kind of stuffed pepper there were and nothing was mentioned about stuffing them with mashed potatoes. So I precooked the pepper and stuffed it with mashed potatoes and fixed mine the regular way. He thought it was great but he only ate half of it. The next night he requested that we have the same thing only this time he would like sausage with his. Think there is something fishy there or have you ever heard of stuff peppers with mashed potatoes?

Yesterdays was Baxley Manor day and thank the good Lord people are still being generous with their giving for them. Of course Lori and Jan are the best shoppers in the world and they save us loads of money with their purchases. Just when you think the whole world is falling apart people prove that there is a lot of goodness still around.

Haven’t seen Bet in quite sometime, we are going to have to get together when you are free. Karen and I met for lunch this week and solved the political problems of the world but some how I don’t think anyone is listening to us. (smile)

A couple of weeks ago I let Cocoa out after dark and she went running like it was the Daytona 500 and suddenly she started to yelp and cry and came right back. Was not really sure what she encountered out there until last night. I was sitting on the porch and noticed my bird feeder swinging so I got the flash light and guess what….there was a raccoon just helping him/herself to the bird food. She no longer goes far from the door when I let her out and I am glad that raccoon could have done her in nothing flat. So the fact remains raccoon’s climb fenses.

Well my printer is about on its last legs like my computer. It was an all in one copier, fax, scanner and printer. Now it will only print but just barely, have to shut it off each time I use it. Gosh I think it is time for me to have some good luck!

Another Birthday that almost slip by me is Lynn Adams who will celebrate on the 22. Hope you have the happiest birthday ever Lynn you deserve it!

Hope all is well with you and that you have a wonderful week, remember take good care of you!

Lots of Love
a (aa) Mom`g`
