March 1, 2008

Welcome to the 1st of March, what a great week this has been hope all has been well with you! The weather here has been kind of crazy but mostly cloudy (smile) it has been in the 80’s some days and as high as 60 on some. The wind has really taken its toll on many of my hanging plants but other than that it has been great!

On Saturday I took Joyce to get her rental car from Enterprise. Joyce told the guy that I was going to start requesting a rebate since I bring everyone to him. The same evening we all went to our favorite restaurant Applebee’s and had a terrific waitress. The week before it was not so good. I had ordered a baked potato with butter and sour cream. Half way through the meal they bought a baked potato all the way and apologized to Dad for bringing it late.

Dad said it her you need to apologize to. I told them I had just wanted a plain baked potato with butter and sour cream so they took it back. Dad was all done eating when they brought the potato. I told them to forget it and the manager said he would take it off the bill. They finally bought the bill and Dad has already left for the car or I would have raised a fit! The potato was $2.49 and they took $2.00 off the bill! Needless to say I was very upset and was just looking for something to complain about this week but the service was great!

On Monday evening I had my Local Planning Meeting in Viera. One of the items on the agenda was to change the land use for an apartment complex of 280 apartments, from residential to business. They want to put a Big Box store (like BJ’s) there. I was very upset about that because it is right across from the high school, and bordered on three sides by homes. This is not to approve the zoning but to make way in the future for it to happen.

I spoke against it but was voted down. It will be coming to us in the future for zoning but the Board felt it was ok since there was no one there to speak against it. The problem is most of those homes are low income and if they do have a job they can’t take off to come and complain…oh well you win some and lose some but as I said this is not over!

On Tuesday Joyce and I met for lunch and then we were off to get beautified (smile). I got a perm which Nancy said I needed, which I never like but….and Joyce got the works(so to speak smile) Then Tuesday evening a miracle happened Dad went with us to the King Center to see Ann Murray!

It was great fun Lana, Sheri, Joyce, Dad and I had to climb a bunch of stair to get were we were seated but we all enjoyed it. Got to tell you see reads e-mails that people have sent her and one was in reply to one she had read on stage about the outfits she wears during her performances. Evidently someone had complained about her outfits and this was a reply “Don’t pay any attention to the comments about your outfit I think you dress very well for a Canadian! Guess you had to be there but it was funny. She still has a beautiful voice.

On Wednesday several friends and I met for lunch up at work. One of the ladies that I have known for years recently lost her husband and we thought that a get together was good. She is having a hard time but I know she will make it through.

On Thursday Joyce and I met again for lunch and this time we really got beautified! We went to a local spa she had a massage and a facial and I had a facial! I just love it; I would have it done once a month if I could afford it. It isn’t like most facials, she massages your neck and shoulders, hand and feet, it hurts but it is great!

Got the news on Thursday that sister Judy who has worked for Merck for about 16 or so years got laid off. She knew that it most likely would happen but it was still a shock to her.

This week we have three birthday’s one is my grandson Pat who will be 27 on the 4th. Hope you have the happiest of birthday dear Pat on that your special day! Another is nephew Chris Adams who will celebrate on the 5th! A very happy birthday Chris….21 right? Then Cousin Jack Adams will celebrate on the 7th. Hope you all have the happiest of Birthday’s!

Really didn’t get to work in the yard this week, thought about it a lot but never got to it!

Friend Bet was in a three car accident last week she was the one in the middle. Now her car is in the shop for two weeks. Thankfully she was ok.

I got a note from my friend Letty that lives in my home town. She said that MSNBC said that Caribou (where my first husband was from) had gotten 144.5 inches of snow this season as of Wednesday morning. Breaking the record for the entire season but she continued to say that day they got another 5’ inches of snow and today it is suppose to snow and it is just the beginning of March. I told her although it is cool here, I think I will stay!

Dad went for his check up at the Dr. yesterday and he is in great health, he doesn’t have to go back for 10 months! Isn’t that great all of us are much younger than 90 and can’t say that!

Well I guess that’s it for this week hope that you have the best week ever and remember please take good care of you!

Lots of Love

a (aa) Mom`g`
