February 2, 2008

Good morning all hope that you have had a great week, got to say that mine was interesting and quite busy. The weather here has been quite good, a little cool for some but just right for me. Got some yard work done, slow but sure but the strange thing is the more I do it looks like it is ganging up on me…

Last weekend as you know I attended the Dioceses of Central Florida annual Convention. This is the business part of the church. Some parts of the Episcopal Church are planning to with draw from the Episcopal Church because of our one gay Bishop. Our dioceses is trying to get aligned with those that support that frame of mind. I certainly don’t want to get in a disagreement with anyone over this but we had nine parishes leave our Dioceses because they don’t feel that gays should participate in our church. My thinking on that is God loves us all no matter what if you are a good person what ever your sexual orientation. But as I said that is my thinking and I am sure you have your own thoughts.

On Monday evening I attended my Local Planning Agency meeting at Viera. It was a very worth while meeting; we approve a comprehensive plan amendment that would say that all municipalities, the School Board, and County would agree on zoning that will affect the schools in our area. To bad this hadn’t been done along time ago, our schools are way over crowed and that has to show in the learning abilities.

After that meeting I was off to join my old NASA friend for dinner in Titusville. It is always so enjoyable to be around them again but it never last long enough by our choice we are all getting older (smile) and need our beauty sleep.

Tuesday was a great day for me, Nancy got some health insurance. It isn’t the best because she is considered a risk because of her stroke. But it is certainly better than none. It is quite expensive but I am just so thankful that she has it

Also on Tuesday was the big primary here in Florida. We had a 40% turn out here in our county. What a shame, people are so unhappy about things but the just sit on their laurels and do nothing. I sure hope you all vote when it comes to your area. We may not all agree on everything but if you don’t vote you certainly don’t have the right to complain.

Since I didn’t get any suggestions of what to do with my Easter tree, I decided to take the Christmas tree down. It took me almost three hours to do so and put it away. I have decided that next year I will not have a Christmas tree.

A very special Birthday wish this week for my Uncle Gib, he will hit the big 80! Please join me in wishing him the very best of Birthdays!

On Wednesday, I had an appointment with our County Commissioner. The planning and zoning board is now down to one in our area and I feel that is important that we are represented on that board. The first thing he said to me if you are here to resign I am going to jump out the window. (Made me feel good anyway) Our meetings are televised on Public TV and starting this month they went to digital. So unless you have a digital TV you can not watch it. Doesn’t make any difference to me I think Bill just watched it so he knew when I would be home. (smile) They say for a $1. you can get a box so that you can see it but there may only be a $1. charge a month but they charge you $20 some to install it. So I guess we will just wait until we get a new TV.

On Thursday along with working in my yard, and putting a new bulb in the garage light (isn’t is a shame that just a small thing like that is such a big deal as you get older) The light is on the eve of the garage so a ladder is necessary but thankfully it is done) I attended my Federally Employed Women Annual Training meeting. I brag that all I was assigned to at this event was 50/50 tickets but now I am in charge of getting the one night cruise…oh well not a big deal.

Next week both Bet and I are scheduled to work everyday up until launch on Thursday. It is always and exciting time and prayerfully all will go well!

Time is drawing near for our visit with Sister Joyce. Still have a couple of weeks to go but always look forward to one of the sisters coming or all of them as far as that goes. Poor Joyce is still having pain in her knee after that procedure but they tell her it takes four to six weeks before you notice the difference. I know it must be painful a couple of years ago I had a “touch” of arthritis in my knee and I thought I was going to die. Please keep her in your prayers.

I hope that you have a great week and remember you must take good care of you!

Lots of Love
