Good morning all hope that you have had a terrific week. The weather here has kind of been mixed lets put it this way the Tuesday morning paper said that we were in for some wicked weather and that turned out to be true for Cocoa Beach anyway. A tornado touched down and tore up a condo over there. Thankfully no one was insured but it did do a lot of damage. We have had some pretty heavy rain and wind but no damage thankfully!
Dad and I had a very nice visit on Saturday and we both enjoyed our dinner. My sisters (minus Lana she is usually working) get together on Saturday night and Chat. But this Saturday it didn’t happen. Judy was in Puerto Rico, Joyce’s computer was down so we were pretty much out of business for this Sat. But Judy is now back from a wonderful vacation and Joyce fixed her computer herself so we will be back in business tonight!
On Monday Nancy and I met for lunch and then I went with her for her biopsy. She had been told by friends that it wasn’t painful and she would never feel it. That was not the case, she also was a bleeder and they had quite a time getting it stopped. During the procedure she had four mammograms and it took over two hours. They told us that we would get the results in three or four days but thankfully we found out in two days that it was benign! She only has to go back in six months for a mammogram. Thanks to everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers.
Tuesday I met friend Karen for dinner and we attended a political debate on East Merritt Island. It turned out to be very interesting and although I had my mind made up before I went who I would vote for on the 26th, it confirmed that I had made the right decision.
I was very disappointed to learn that I will not be working landing this coming week. It is time for my six month check up and since the appointment was made so long ago, didn’t think that I should change it. Now if it waits until Thursday, I will be there (smile)
This week we have two special Birthdays’, tomorrow will be sweet Krista’s 21st birthday. Now it is hard for me to believe that she will be 21 so you will pardon me if I say I think she should be 11 (smile) We are all going to meet for dinner in honor of the occasion. Then on Monday Cousin Carla will celebrate her 21st (smile) birthday. Hope it is the best one ever Carla!
Thursday evening I had my Special District Zoning meeting. You know it is the funnies thing many of us have fought hard to restrict heavy zoning on North Merritt Island and I am pleased with that. But several years ago this particular zoning item had been zoned for Business. I fought against it at the time, but realize now that on a busy road like Courtenay that is what belongs there. But now they are asking for Business in the front and storage of heavy equipment in the back part of the property. Which is a different zoning, they are promising to erect a fence to hide the storage from the road as well as a 25 foot buffer with vegetation on the road. Now I think that is a good solution but my board could not come to an agreement on it so it went to the Commissioners with out a vote. Maybe I am wrong on this one but I think sometime you can go over board on things.
I wanted to share a picture with you for those of you in Florida that has felt like it has been too cold for you. My old school friend that lives in my home town sent it to me on Valentine’s Day….I think the weather here has been just great especially after looking at this picture don’t you?
Yesterday was Baxley Manor Day, we debated about going since there is five Fridays in this month and we always go on the third Friday. But we decided to go anyway and we were so glad that we did, there cupboards were bare. Thank the good Lord for the people that help us help them, don’t know what they will do if something happens that we have to stop!
Getting excited by next Saturday Sister Joyce will be here and we have a busy week at hand for her.
Have the best week ever and remember please take good care of you!
Lots of Love
a (aa) Mom`g`
“Sooner or later we all discover that the important moments in life are not the advertised ones, not the birthdays, the graduations, the weddings, not the great goals achieved. The real milestones are less prepossessing. They come to the door of memory unannounced, stray dogs that amble in, sniff around a bit and simply never leave. Our lives are measured by these." -- Susan B. Anthony
